  • Utah in the drivers seat for the MWC title....

However they still have to play UNLV, at New Mexico, at BYU and TCU.

I still think they split and win the home games and lose the road games. BYU is going to beat SDSU Tuesday and win out. New Mexico is going to win out.

BYU, Utah and New Mexico will all finish at 12-4.

SDSU will finish at 11-5 and UNLV at 10-6.

Very well could happen, and then they tie with UNM for the title.

What a crazy season for the MWC.

BYU/SDSU is basically an elimination game with both teams having 4 loss column.

Utah either has to pick up a road win (unlikely) or hope that UNM or BYU loses @ Wyoming.

BYU needed that win at UNLV. It's Utah's to lose now.

I still think that BYU will lose to SDSU tomorrow. Utah will win their home games and lose the road games. I don't see anyone winning this thing outright, and I would be surprised if Utah doesn't get a share of the title.

I agree with the general sentiment that Utah will win the home games and lose the road games. The loss that hurt Utah the most this season was the game at UNLV. They had the chance to steal a win, but didn't do it.

It won't be s surprise if 3 teams finish up 12-4. If the conference uses a tie-breaker to determine the tournament seeding, what will the 1-3 be? Anybody have an idea?

If it is between Utah, SDSU, and UNM, I believe it would be SDSU in the top spot because they have a sweep of UNLV.

If it is between BYU, Utah and UNM, then it would probably be BYU who would own a sweep over SDSU

Of course, if the Utes can win in Provo or in the Pit then they'll win it out right.

At this point, it is hard for me to believe that things will go according to form. For example, SDSU could beat BYU and lose at home to UNLV. Or, UNM could beat the Utes, but lose at Wyoming.

With 4 games to go, there is plenty left to be decided. UNLV is locked into the 4/5 game and the loser of the BYU/SDSU game will probably be there as well.

Who knows, but whatever the outcome, I bet Utah has a parade.

We Utes only have parades when the Utes finish as a runner-up at a national level, such as football 2009 and basketball 1998.

Just to keep this going here for a second. If Utah and New Mexico are tied at 12-4, then both would have a sweep of Wyoming, TCU, Air Force, and CSU.

At that point, they might flip a coin for the 2-3 spot.

Interesting though that the winner of the BYU/SDSU game has a chance to be the #1 seed with all the tie breakers.

If UNLV managed to finish 11-5 it would lock into the 4 spot with sweeps of BYU and Utah and would be the "home" team in the 4/5 game...which really doesn't matter.

You think BYU loses with White out? I really like the SDSU matchup if White is out. I think BYU wins at SDSU.
