SU's in a tight spot now. His perma-bone for the PAC shows no signs of abating any time soon, Arizona is currently in first place in said conference, BYU blew Arizona out in each of the last two seasons, and yet SU very much wants to believe that BYU has no quality wins.

I don't envy your position, SU, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Truth be told, I'm more of the jealous ex type. I am not pleased to be learning that SU experienced a D-hole tongue lashing in a non-public setting.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Blaming your negativism on Boylen is the last straw. This agression will not stand, man. Somebody get me Ron Kuby on the phone.

I'll give it to you SU. You have completely nailed the economists' approach. If you predict outrageous things often enough, you end up being correct at some point and then you can make your fortune writing the book on how you predicted the calamity. If you could just turn your evil genius to good ...

I am terrified that SU might be correct. I don't think he will be, but I have 25 years worth of experiences and a fresh load of two shitty performances to digest.

Please don't let him be right.

The original post by SU reminds me of 1999. I was in med school and we were making out our brackets.

I picked 14 seed Weber State to beat 3 seed UNC in my bracket and spent Monday through Thursday telling the three guys in my school from UNC about how Harold The Show Arceneaux and the might Weber State Wildcats were going to dominate their Tarheels.

I thought it was kind of funny for the guy from Utah to be talking up the little team from his state and I never thought Weber would actually win. When Weber pulled off the upset, the guys from UNC were legitimately pissed at me. It wasn't funny anymore.

Andy Katz talks about how the MWC will still be okay even with the departure of BYU. (No mention of Utah, though. )

                            4. Conferences on the rise
The Mountain West: BYU is out the door after this season, heading to the WCC as its football-driven move to independence forced the Cougars to look for a new home. But the MWC can relish the fact that it finally put multiple teams in the Sweet 16 with BYU and San Diego State. Even with BYU's departure, the league can sell its success well in the offseason, and there is no reason to believe SDSU, UNLV and New Mexico are heading for a drop-off.
