What if you start to realize that the owner of the garage cares more about how the car looks than how well it runs.

Now suppose that a good friend of the owner of the '69 camaro promises to build a state of the art garage with all of the lastest equipment to help you rebuild it. They will not interfere in your ability to get the correct parts to improve the car. They also want you to have it win as many races as possible, and will help you get it into bigger races than the other owners.
I think your analogy would have been more apt if the owners did something less drastic than removing a piston or the oil (both actions would stop the car dead in its tracks).

Instead, the owners installed a new catalytic converter that restricts the exhaust airflow and reduces horsepower. The owners did it to reduce the car's emissions. (Not those emissions, sickos!)
    Okay, those emissions, sickos.

Besides, I think it would be wrong to put any miry in the Hunty. Miry belongs in Oregon. It has something to do with the dampness of the soil there. They have some in Autzen, I'm told.

The '56 Jag is clearly in UCLA colors and is the only truly amazing and expensive car in the group. The Corvette was intended to represent any other program that was great at one point (as opposed to just impressive) and still had tons of talent but wasn't winning as much as they were used to. I was originally thinking of a Michigan type program (hence the color).

I can confirm that there is a shuttle bus from SLC to St. George, parents use it for custody exchanges. I cannot confirm how much it costs. Nor can I confirm the knowledge of coach negotiations of shuttle bus drivers.

                  • If I were Hill and I wanted Rose, I would do it in the following way:

Have one of the U boosters who is friends with Rose take him out to lunch or meet with him to talk. Gauge his interest in the job and see if there is any chance that Rose is interested. If there is some interest...

Then have Hill meet with him. If the interest continues...I would then bring in Kyle and Chow and any other former Cougars to meet with him and talk about how it has been coming to the U and making such a great career move.

After that, meet with him again, make the offer and the Utes and Rose both win.

With all that said, we all know it is 99% unlikely to happen...but wowzers, that would be crazy stuff if Rose did leave and go to Utah.

                          Either the WCC or Utah.

Sounds like the Kobayashi Maru for Cougars.

Of those two I'd take Rose in a heartbeat. But he's not moving to the Utes.

Sounds like Krystkowiak and Gottfried are waiting in the wings if everyone else turns down Utah.

On the surface, this reminds me of the Redskins coaching search when they hired Jim Zorn. They had Jim Fassel all set to come in and even hired Zorn, his OC choice before finalizing a deal with him...but since fan sentiment was against Fassel, they decided to go another direction. It just feels like that is what will happen with this situation. I sure hope not, but we'll see.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
