I don't see it happening after watching the game tonight. The next time this team plays team defense will be the first.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostWell the Utes better hope they can steal one from Wyoming."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

Defense has always been decent under Boylen, I think the next time they run an actual offensive play will be the first.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostI don't see it happening after watching the game tonight. The next time this team plays team defense will be the first.*Banned*

I was wishy-washy about Utah's performance thus far, but when you've reduced Senioritis to a single word, it's dire.Originally posted by Senioritis View PostDamn."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

Couldn't sleep so I just watced the 2nd half on the re-broadcast. If Andre Miller was dead he'd have rolled over in his grave from the PG play. No semblance of organization or scheme. Duck your head and hope for the best. To be fair BYU often looks similar they just happen to have an All-American that can wake up a stagnant offense.
If Clyburn had ANY help I think this team could spoil some team's post season aspirations. Currently they stand little chance of finishing better than 6th.

Man, that was frustrating to watch. Our lack of an offensive set puts us frequently out of position for transitiona defense. How do we not shoot any FT through the majority of the game-we have no inside offensive presence. It's going to be a long season."You interns are like swallows. Is it fair to say this season is over?"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Getting pretty close. As I said in many previous posts, I actually liked the potential and the play of the Utes thru the first 10 games of the year. But this team has gotten worse. Noticeably so. The offense is atrocious. It is drive and kick. The problem is that the kick usually means that Utah happily settles for the 3, which (not counting yesterday) is atrocious.
It is a bad offense for this team. In fact, there is no offense. Clyburn can create it, Jiggy can create it (and often turn it over) and Kupets can sometimes shoot it...but no inside game and the Utes have seriously digressed. I still think that they can sneak up and win some decent games...but, oh man.
I think chances were pretty good that Boylen would be around next year...but this team is getting worse as the season progresses. Unless he can somehow turn it around, he won't last after this year. Seriously, it is hard to argue for any kind of progression when you have a 5 game losing streak with losses to Hawaii (who played without their best player), San Diego (who had no D1 wins up to that point), Air Force and Portland (a decent team, but the Utes should still win that one). Egads.

You must be embarrassed having predicted the Utes would win 15-17 games.Originally posted by UteStar View PostGetting pretty close. Oh man and I thought that was pretty fair...I gave that prediction right before the Hawaii trip. And, it was not really over the top prediction. They were 7-3 going into the Hawaii tourney... I thought that they would win 2 of their final 4 games of the year and then win at Air Force, which would have left them with a 10-5 record or at worst, 9-6. I thought that they would win 6-8 games in conference.
Now, with 5 straight losses and they sit at 7-8. My new revised prediction is 12-14 wins. Unless they show marked improvement, I don't know how Hill keeps Boylen.

Hot Damn, you mean. Nothing more exciting and really depressing than yet another coaching search. It will only get worse when fans start calling for a womans coach in Provo, an assistant somewhere in the ACC, a head coach for a D7 college in South Dakota and BYU's head coach. I am not looking forward to the next 3 months.Originally posted by Senioritis View PostDamn.
