Seems like BYU has some great talent to draw from in the coming years (Chatman, Haws, Emery, etc.), but is anyone else a bit worried that they're all 1's and 2's and basically all our talent right now is at those spots (Haws, Collinsworth -- arguably a 3, Harrison, Carlino, etc.).

Is there any LDS talent in the pipeline over 6'7" or so? What happened to the glory days of recruits like Dan Howard?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I thought we have a bunch of skinny stiffs in the pipeline: the two kids from Lone Peak, and the kids from San Diego whose other offer was from Army.

Isaac Neilson (6'10), Nate Austin (6'9), Ian Harward (6'10) are all bigs that signed recently. Also Jordan Loveridge is a junior and already 6'7.

I guess I meant it more as a question about top LDS talent. I know we've signed some guys with size, but all our top recruits in the coming years are guards, and all our best young talents also play one of the two guard spots. It would be nice if there was some good sized talent coming up. We know Jabari is on the horizon, but I don't think that one is going to happen.

The only other guy I can think of is Roscoe Allen. But our chances are probably better of landing Jabari than Roscoe. He's 6'7 but not LDS IIRC.

I watched him the other night against Long Beach Poly. Not real impressed to be honest. Of course the game was dominated by Shabazz Muhammad so that may be why.

Based on his last name I think he is going to be a baller.

I'm sorry, I thought you said a balder.

                          Another Isaac Neilson story here.

Looks like the refs let him get away with an offensive basket interference to get the win for his team.

UNLV lands commitment from high-powered scoring guard Dantley Walker

Walker is a senior at the tiny 2A school in Panaca, located about 165 miles north of Las Vegas, but will head off on a two-year Mormon mission after graduating this spring. He'll be a freshman in the 2013-14 season if the commitment and all else holds.

                            ----------------

Kruger traveled to Needles two weeks ago to watch Walker play, and simply beat his peers to the punch on extending a scholarship offer. Others who had shown interest but not yet offered included BYU and Utah State.

Wood said he believes that the two years away from competition will do Walker some good physically, as he could use about another 10 or 15 pounds on his frame to help him compete at the D-I level. Walker currently plays at between 155 and 160 pounds.
                            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
