Maybe you should ask Ty Corbin.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

So what does it take to pull off a transfer like that?Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostFrank Jackson the freshman phenom from Lehi has officially transferred to Lone Peak and will play for Quincy Lewis this season. It is a legit transfer as his family is moving to Highland.

Moving in to the other schools boundaries and proving that you are not doing it just for basketball purposes. Eric Mika had this problem as he transferred from Waterford for strictly basketball purposes. The Jacksons are actually buying a house in Highland that is a huge upgrade over their current home.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostSo what does it take to pull off a transfer like that?
Not sure if you remember Matt Mortensen from Timpview who played at Marquette and was kicked out for steroids. He actually lived in Springville and hsi family rented an apartment in Provo so he could play at Timpview.
They are much more strict now.*Banned*

So how exactly do you go about proving you aren't doing it for basketball purposes?Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostMoving in to the other schools boundaries and proving that you are not doing it just for basketball purposes. The Collinsworths are from Mapleton. I'm not sure what they did. It depends on the school district's rules, doesn't it?Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostMoving in to the other schools boundaries and proving that you are not doing it just for basketball purposes. And TJ Haws rejoices. Admittedly, I don't know much about the LP roster for next year, but my thought was that Haws would have a rough go of it being the only returning starter - getting all the attention from opposing defenses.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostFrank Jackson the freshman phenom from Lehi has officially transferred to Lone Peak and will play for Quincy Lewis this season. If you start at the HS as a freshman you don't need to provide any justification, no matter where you live.Originally posted by jay santos View PostThe Collinsworths are from Mapleton. They have a 6-6 guy that's an above average HS center, but not a D1 prospect. Their sixth man is back that was about as good as Toolson last year. They'll be favorites in Utah 5A but not huge favorites. Brighton got better and might challenge them. AF will be good again also.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostAnd TJ Haws rejoices. Good question. I am sure it is up to the school districts discretion. I would imagine if you went from a 2000 sq ft townhome to a 5000 sq ft house in Highland due to a promotion at your job that would be justification enough to move and change schools.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostSo how exactly do you go about proving you aren't doing it for basketball purposes?*Banned*

IOW, if you add a sufficient number of $100K to your personal debt, you can buy your way into a transfer approval. Good to know.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostGood question. Byu has offered 6'10 center Ryan Andrus from American Fork. He will be a senior this season.
I have seen him play a few times I thought he was intriguing prospect but never thought Rose would offer. He averaged 19 and 7 and feasted on smaller teams. However his two games against Lone Peak and Mika he was held to 7 and 9 points both season lows.

I read where it is contingent on him playing a year and then going on a mission. It is likely an indictor that BYU believes it has lost its shot in landing Brekkot Chapman. He strikes me as another project similar to Ian Harward and James Anderson. Hopefully he will blossom.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostByu has offered 6'10 center Ryan Andrus from American Fork. He will be a senior this season.

If BYU does in fact land Jamal Aytes, who it might be as I read that he is retaking a standardized test at the end of this month to be fully qualified for college, then BYU's bigs for 2014-2015 are the following:
Nate Austin - SR
Josh Sharp - SR
Luke Worthington - SO
Jamal Aytes - SO
Ryan Andrus - FR
Isaac Nelson - FR
Now that is group of players that excites me!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

If you reside in the boundary, it doesn't matter what your reason is: basketball, or you think the girls are better looking, or the AP physics teacher is the best alive. The default rule is you attend the school if you reside in the boundaries, so you don't need to prove anything other than you reside in the boundaries.

Eric Mika who has lived in Highland his entire life yet had to sit out a year at Lone Peak because he transferred from a private school.*Banned*
