Basically the same route that Abuou went. Extra year of prep school to make college academics easier and to develop a more well rounded game. His numbers and production have changed. He was a slasher who could shoot a bit but now he is a slasher and a shooter. I think we'll see early contribution from him but he is still a freshman. Freshman at his level can contribute but usually don't. He is top tier but he is not of the elite variety that a Jabari Parker (holy be his name) is.Originally posted by Jacob View PostThey guy essentially played an extra year of HS at a high level prep school to improve his game, correct?
He should be more ready to contribute from day 1 than about any freshman we've had.
Sorry, just saw that this was a bit redundant. Anyway, Abuou came to us as a defender who could learn to play offensively at the top level. Damarcus is an offensive player who could learn to play defensively at the top level. Abuou came in playing D like a D-1 guy, I hope Damarcus is as good an offensive player as his reputation suggests. If so, he'll make up for the lack of a Michael Loyd type talent.Last edited by KillerDog; 10-08-2010, 02:32 PM.

You know this is a great point. The Plumlee brothers at Duke all played at Christ School and younger bro and recent Duke commit Marshall is Damarcus' teammate now. Christ School has 5 state championships in the last 6 years. They play 6th ranked Oak Hill in February. Should be a good one.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostThat's one of the things I like most about Winder and Harrison. They've played on the court with good talent, in practice with good teammates, and played on teams (Harrison for one year, at least) that played against good competition."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

So Haws will play in 12,13, and 14, Collinsworth will play in 10, 13, 14, and 15, and Harrison will play in 11, 14, 15, and 16? Shame we couldn't get these guys on the court at the same time for more than one year, but 2014 should be interesting if Harrison doesn't come back too rusty.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostRecruiting rankings for Haws, Collinsworth, and Harrison:

Then again, wasn't Hartsock also pretty highly recruited? Oh yeah, bigs don't develop at BYU.

I don't recall Hartsock being highly recruited...certainly not in terms of scholarship offers. He had great scoring numbers coming out of high school in OK, but high school stats tell very little about a kid's college potential.Originally posted by woot View PostSo Haws will play in 12,13, and 14, Collinsworth will play in 10, 13, 14, and 15, and Harrison will play in 11, 14, 15, and 16? Oh I thought I had read that, but I could be wrong. If he doesn't go, 13 and especially 14 could be some big years for us, Particularly if Davies develops (and assuming he goes on a mission, which I've heard is happening after this year).Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostIs Harrison going on a mission? is this for certain?

Hartsock was not highly recruited. He was a back to the basket player but only 6'8" and without a big frame to pack on pounds. He also was going directly on a mission so that scared some off. IIRC, he had offers in the Big XII but not many and no one special.Originally posted by woot View PostSo Haws will play in 12,13, and 14, Collinsworth will play in 10, 13, 14, and 15, and Harrison will play in 11, 14, 15, and 16? I don't believe Harrison is going on a mission. He hasn't indicated that he is. I also understand that Davies and Collinsworth might decide not to go on missions after this year. The two Collinsworth brothers and Davies are all good friends and have toyed with the idea of playing together for a few years.

Trust me on this one. Kyle Collinsworth knows his mother does not doubt. He will be on a mission and he will cry when an all male quartet sings "In the Hollow of thy Hand" at his missionary farewell. I know mormon culture and I am rarely wrong. Most informed and enlightened people agree with me on this.Originally posted by KillerDog View PostHartsock was not highly recruited. If Brandon Davies is improved this year and plays a lot, because of his ability to score I am assuming as his defense is mostly abysmal, I doubt he goes on a mission. If he is not real improved offensively, I doubt he plays an overwhelming amount and then going on a mission is a higher possibility.
Right now I am assuming he is improved because it makes me feel better.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
