Egor struggled tonight. The bench is so deep. Nice to have Hall come in and add stability.

They honored Shoff and his family at halftime. That was awesome and emotional (at least for me). I loved that guy.

BYU beats Kansas State by 15 at home. K-State is quickly becoming the conference team that I love to hate. They're kinda like Saint Mary's in the WCC for me...except we actually beat KState. I keep telling myself to stay off the reddit game threads, and I know most fans are whiny about ref calls or just whiny in general, but K-State fans take the cake. Kansas Jayhawk fans are unbearable online, but that's mostly because they are good so they look down on everyone else and expect everything to go their way. What's K-State's fans' excuse for acting that way? The first half had 7 calls against Kansas St to 6 against BYU. That's a grand difference of 1 foul, folks. In the second half at one point BYU had 9 fouls against them to 3 against KSU. And KSU fans were still complaining. Ok, back to some game analysis. Defense and rebounding won us this game. I love Trey and Keita is becoming a dog (KY's words)!

Keba Keita gets the Player of the Game award, for the first time. 5 blocks and 11 rebounds in just 18 minutes! A PER/Min of 1.5 is incredible. Foos also had a really good 1.3 PER/Min, but the two of them only combined for 30 minutes? I just realized that we played for 10 minutes without either of them on the court. Neither were in foul trouble and both were playing excelent, so even though we won, that's odd. Keita had the best TS% and we actually tried to feed him the ball on something besides a slam dunk today. His DRtg of 36.6 is probably the lowest (best) we've had for a starter this season. Hall got the best GSc even though I had him as "just" the third best player, but he was key in calming us down when K-State + the refs went on a run. Mag had the best ORtg, which I do find surprising since he took just 2 shots and had just 1 assist. Shrugs.

Mihailo Boskovic gets teh Struggled to Perform award, for the 4th time this season. He really struggled early on in the season, then I thought he was starting to improve in the last few games, but today he was back to struggling. He had the worst PER (tied with Knell actually), GSc, TS%, and ORtg. He also was bad on defense. You can tell that he does not want to defend bigs in the paint despite being 6'10. Baker had the worst DRtg.

The season average PER has been updated for the two games this week. Our top 5 has not changed: Saunders / Demin / Keita / Traore / Knell. Friendly reminder that I'm only showing the last 10 games, but the Ave PER is for the entire season.

BYU is now 17-8 (8-6) and #33 in Kenpom and was #39 in NET prior to today. Kansas State is now #59 in Kenpom and was #68 in NET. This is a Q2 win. Up next is a home game against #17 Kansas, who is 17-7 (8-5) and #12 in Kenpom and was #11 in NET. Time for another Q1 win!

Yeah, as the teams were leaving the floor, the refs were walking out and they were surrounded by 5-6 cops. One of the KSU coaches went after one of the refs and 2-3 cops had to grab him and push him out off the court and out the arena. I couldn't believe it. Then shortly after the second half started, there was a timeout and one of the KSU coaches ran across the court to go after a ref and had to be restrained by another coach. He did get a technical for that.

The KSU staff was screaming at the refs all night long. Even when the foul differential was 9-3 in their favor in the second half. I have never seen anything like it.

Mika was one of my favorite players when he was here. He definitely did have that look. Now he's going a bit Joe Dirt or Nickleback or something lol. I don't hardly ever watch the BYUtv HT show. Was this a one time appearance for Mika? What happened to Haws? I always thought Haws was too...robotic, maybe nervous? Can we somehow get Jimmer back involved with BYU basketball in some capacity? Having him do commentary on one of our earlier games was just gold.

He traded in young Dolph Lundgren for not-as-young Val Kilmer.

I have enjoyed hearing his thoughts during the studio show. Same with Haws, Jimmer, JT, etc.
