That's the beauty of being an LDS Ute fan - you can act like an asshole all you want and you don't have to worry about how it reflects on the university, because everyone pretty much expects assholiness, or your church.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
Geez, LA ALUFUte saying he booed loudly whenever Caleb Lohner got the ball when we all know if that happened at the MC to a former Cougar turned Ute that he'd be the first to whine on here about how unChristlike it is and how horribly it reflects on BYU and the church.

It must cut Lohner to the quick to have LAUte booing him.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

Where is someone when they are 65+ years old and booing a 20-year-old because he made an obviously better life choice? When does someone grow out of that?Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

The Sainted Lavell Edwards totally broke lapUke. What a rude awakening it will be when word trickles down to him that The Saint is still RUTSing in the CK.Last edited by myboynoah; 11-29-2021, 10:15 AM.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Oh, and Pope only recruits RMs if they have committed to another school.
Lol @ some of you clowns who recently wondered why people don't like this guy.Anybody know how many RMs Pope has on his roster? Just a wild guess, but I suspect he’s not really headed in that direction in his recruiting. Looks like dem Utes got the Lohner situation all figured out, and without having any specifics!
In response to the statement that BYU was almost certainly breaking the rules and talking to Lohner:Regarding the Lohner cheating accusations - I don’t know any specifics, but it looks really bad. A guy signs an LOI, I believed enrolled at the U and then before the season is going to start and far to late to recruit someone else suddenly just decides to go to BYU. Whether payments or employment happened I don’t know, but it is hard to believe that nobody was talking to Lohner or his family from BYU. You’ve got to be pretty naive to believe otherwise.
You may say it is part of the game or whatever, but not a great look for BYU. Yeah, yeah, you can point out Collette, which you guys also at the time felt was horrible and made the same exact accusations we make about Lohner. In short, BYU was almost certainly talking to a player signed with another team.
I guess Lohner has zero agency in all of this - no way he makes any decisions about his basketball and schooling future without (1) payments, (2) employment, or (3) illegal and secret persuasion by Pope.Yeah, I don’t think anyone can deny that happened. Pope is greasier than an oil rig.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think "unethical" in the endemic language somehow includes "fan of the losing team." Didn't Utah pick up a kid from Utah State, a big lefty, like two days before the first game a few years back.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostLol. I love this narrative that Ute fans seem to believe about all BYU sports:

Coach Pope and his guys jump to #12 in the AP poll."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Second half - Gonzaga in a one-possession game right now with something called Tarleton."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

The Gonzaga update reminds me that I watched the Gonzaga/Duke game and forgot to comment about it.
So here is my comment: Those are two very, very good basketball teams. Regardless of whether the Zags are in a one possession game with Tarleton, they're still really really good. As is Duke.
