    Agree on all counts!

How crazy is it that we are missing Harward, and Lohner didn't have much of an impact, and we still crushed Oregon? Unreal.

I am still on cloud 9 from last night. What a moment.

I'm hoping we see a lot of Hunter this season...along with whoever the other 2 deacons that got PT last night. That will likely mean we are up 25 late in the 2nd half.

Fous Traore. Unbelievable what he is doing as a true freshman. No moment is too big for him. He is playing great defense and has excellent timing for both shot blocking and rebounding. That block against a taller opponent right at the basket in which he was on his butt a split second earlier? Wow. I've also been really impressed with his offense. I did not expect him to be this good this quick. He was 5 of 6 (I can't believe he missed that 3-pointer) with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 20 minutes off the bench.
That block was a thing of awe and beauty.

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the level of athleticism required to do what he did. It is astounding. Shockingly so.

It really was amazing on replay. Flat on your butt, then get up and elevate in time to block the shot. It was nuts.

Latest power rankings from Eamonn Brennan at The Athletic:

                  9. BYU (3-0)

Some caution is probably warranted here. While the Associated Press voters believed Oregon to be the 12th-best team in the country at the start of the week, that always felt a bit high to us, even if you acknowledge that systems like Ken Pomeroy’s or Bart Torvik’s have a fair amount of data-starved guesswork happening early in the year, too. Still, even if BYU didn’t beat The Number Twelve Ranked Team in the Country™ 81-49 Tuesday night, the Cougars did beat a pretty decent-seeming Oregon team 81-49 Tuesday night, in Portland no less, and that, in and of itself, is pretty dang impressive.

So, too, is what Alex Barcello has done this season: After three games, Barcello’s offensive rating is 164.4. He has scored 66 points on 12-of-14 from 2, 8-of-13 from 3, and 18-of-18 from the free throw line. He has averaged 1.406 points per possession, per Synergy. Just three games, blah blah blah, but if Barcello was having these three games in, say, the first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament, he’d be a hero for all time. It’s November, so caution is warranted. But still. Pretty, pretty good.

When's the last time both football and basketball was ranked this high? It must be back in the 80's.

Probably. Unless you count 2009-2010. Football was as high as #7 after the Oklahoma win and basketball got as high as #12, but those didn't happen simultaneously.

I haven't watched the game yet, since my daughter wanted to go on a ghost tour last night (did not see any ghosts). I was looking at the box score this morning and noticed Fouss didn't play. Any reason given for that?

I guess he got injured at the end of the Oregon game. He is in pretty good shape but they held him out as a precaution. He will play next week.

Connor Harding has played really well at UVU these past 2 games. Good for him. I wish it had worked out for him at BYU with him being a SE Idaho kid. Once UVU gets their best player from last year, Trey Woodbury, back they might win their conference between Harding, Woodberry and their stud center.

Still think Pope knows what he is doing wrt BYU- and specifically this BYU team. I understand tooblue's need to get ahead of the game but tbh the criticism is looking even more silly than it looked when it was originally made.

Also BYU has up to 15 players potentially "scheduled" to be on scholarships next year-and that is before Pope goes to the transfer portal. I am convinced, at a minimum, he will get an experienced PG so that would get it to 16. Some folks are going to have to move on after this year.
