My sense after 3 years is we got what we paid for -- an available assistant on the cheap from a prominent program, but without any experience running the show himself.
There was a dozen like him available out there -- all of which were a crap shoot as to whether they'd be successful or not. Hoping this one is successful, but odds are that he'll fall short of expectations.
I expect the next hire will have some successful HC'ing experience.
