Yes. He makes mistakes like anyone will, but he fixes them.

Maybe my memory is tainted, because I didn't really start following the U until I started going there, which happen to coincinde with the same year Dr. Hill was hired, so my knowledge of the program prior to that is mostly second hand. Still, it seems that, as a whole, the athletic program has taken tremendous strides across the board under Dr. Hill's tutelage. Those effects are far more reaching than anything Majerus did.

Absolutely. His predecessors were all incompetent morons.

I truly mean no disrespect to Mr Crimson. People here who know me best know I truly like him a lot. But bear in mind it was Mr Crimson who wanted Whit fired after the Vegas game in 2007--midseason. I know he will think this a cheap shot and he's understandably sensitive about this record. And while I mean no disrespect, I think it bears remembering if anyone is thinking that Crim should be the next AD. (I vociferously defended Whit and said he would not be fired, in fact he would go on to lead the Utes to glory.)

By the way, I don't approve of the fake heart attack, etc., and I'm sure Dr. Hill had his work cut out for him managing big Rick. I just think it's in Utah's interest to honor Rick for much the same reason I think it's in Utah's interest to call 2008 football its and any mid-major's best season ever. I do respect big Rick more than I do Lance Allred.

I don't know the history behind the comment. If that is true, no doubt it is a dick move. Considering he didn't do that when Giac was hired (at least, not that I've ever seen discussed), it makes you think it is possible Rick doesn't want anyone to succeed at Utah since he left, and maybe he thought Boylen had a decent chance of success. Not entirely implausable given the size of his ego.

Its what is really laughable about people like Seattle Majerus Fan and MP Funk, Majerus is actually pissing on them and they think its just the shower.
            Thanks for that mental image.

I am not criticizing Dr. Hill in any way, shape or form. My comment was only that it hasn't been easy to replace the fat man.

For those of you who don't want to click on the link, it doesn't at all say what Seattle Majerus fan says it does. But as always he has no point and is lashing out at me just like he is lashing out at all of you.

So the point I've been bringing you all too... Unless you all believe that all these coordinators will make some amazing change (and I don't), then we're better off biting the bullet now instead of facing a few years of a stagnating program where we can't fire the coach yet aren't making progress.

Is there a link on the back story for this topic - the comments made? I can't find one.

Go to Utefans.net and search "De Paul". You will find much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Seattle Majerus Fan cherry picks a line from 3 years ago and says it was me wanting to fire Whit midseason. I'm sure you're all used to this, I've had him on ignore for a long time and haven't had to deal with his nonsense.
