I have been encountering a lot of Boylen haters, in many different places lately. I have to say that I just don't get it. I have posed the question in a few places, too, but I have yet to get a real answer.

He is doing a lot of the off-court stuff that Meyer did when he was at Utah without the results.
Boylen's problem in part has to do with the fact that the football team is doing so well and is firmly entrenced as a "contender" for the MWC title every year. This has been the case with utah basketball in the past...but it hasn't been lately (despite the conf title last year). By the time fans are ready to be interested in hoops, the team is already 5-5 with losses to Idaho and the like so some probably just choose to not be interested.
Some of the most aggressive Boylen haters firmly believe that he doesn't have the talent in the program to win, and given that he has recruited a lot of them, they wonder if he can ever get it done.

I am probably one of those people you are accusing of being a Boylen hater, but I am neither a Boylen hater nor a Boylen supporter. I am in full on wait and see mode with Boylen. I see positives and weaknesses with his coaching ability. I would prefer that Boylen is successful at Utah and that we are not looking for a new coach next year.Originally posted by USS Utah View Post
