  • Boylen to Iowa?

Several reports (including one from Andy Katz) have Boylen's name being floated for the Iowa job. Now, I think this is probably a stretch, but he is a "big 10" guy, so maybe there'd be some interest there.

Some say he has interviewed, some say he said "thanks but no thanks" so it'll be ineresting to see how it plays out, if at all.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I would think that this would not be a "bad" thing. It gives the Utes a clean break and a chance to get a guy that is better without sending a message to potential hires that the U does not have patience or perspective when rebuilding a program.

You're probably right. I think Boylen getting the job is a long, long shot, but it is still interesting that his name has come up.

Iowa is interested. Boylen is not.

Iowa, what a coaches' graveyard. Even Lute Olsen and Steve Alford couldn't do much there.

Living in a snap shot of time I see SU. Iowa has more final fours than any lowly MWC team, coaching history unrivaled by most colleges around the country, Ralph Miller, George Raveling, Lute Olson, Steve Alford. I thought you were one of those that could put history into perspective, instead you are just another Ute fan living in the now.

              Iowa has 3 final fours 1955, 1956, 1980. Utah has four 1944, 1961, 1966, 1998.

Somebody needs to fix our Wiki page. We should have a line for runner-up with 1998 on it. It looks like we lost in 1998 Final Four. Is that Jazzy's job?

George Raveling was a crappy coach. Olsen was not regarded as one of the all-time greats when he was at Iowa. It was very frustrating for him. It seems that Alford is finally finding himself at New Mexico. Iowa is hard. The Wazu of the big ten.

1st step is admitting your snapshot was wrong. We're waiting.

Junkie told me you guys tainted your 44 one so I figured you wouldn't want to count it.

So Iowa and Utah are pretty much equals is what I am getting from you and SU. I guess that Utah will be below WSU when they move to the P10.

DJ and PK's debate this morning on 1320 KFAN was whether or not Ute fans would welcome Majerus back. I only caught the tail end of it, had no idea what triggered the discussion -- that must have been it.

While I love Rick for what he did, and I still think The Big Man can coach, that ship has sailed. It got far too dysfunctional to ever return to normal.

I am in the minority of Ute fans, but I would take Majerus back without any hesitation. I prefer winning conference championships and NCAA tournament games to what we have seen from Ute basketball since Majerus left.
