It's a pointless argument. Utah has completely washed their hands of Maji. All the longing in the world won't bring him back.

Well in Utah's defense, Majerus washed his hands of us first.

Now that Seth Davis confirms Iowa was big time interested in Boylen, I guessing this whole conference is about to learn why at least 3 name schools want him to be their coach. That is if he doesn't change his mind and leave.

Excellent point. Does mpfunk know something three AD's from big name schools don't know? They're also looking at his recruits to see his draw.

Funk likes to pretend that Utah hoops didn't exist before Majerus and we can't ever get there again. Despite my own crisis of faith, we clearly have the guy now.

I have never said that Boylen is not a good coach, I said I was skeptical if he was the right guy for Utah. I have been consistent that I won't make judgment for another year.

That being said he has had some serious recruiting problems. I'm not sure he is brought in a single recruit that I am excited about. Henderson is the closest to being someone that I'm excited about and he is certainly no Van Horn where you know he is in store for big things after his freshman year. Hell, right now Henderson is no Nick Jacobson.

But you're laying the groundwork for a bitchfest next year. That's pretty clear.

Weren't you on the Boylen-wagon when you said Izzo was handing him recruits to make sure he succeeded? Did that end?

MP FUNK is the ultimate front runner. His tune changes more often than the wind. He's one of those people you'd never want to have your back because if he saw the advantage to it, Funk would put a knife there.

So next year if Boylen wins, Funk will sing his praises and say he always has, if he doesn't Funk will say he was always against the hire and he should be fired.

I mean no disrespect to funk, whom I like very much. But this is one instance where a comparison to exute would be precise and not just lazy. They both similarly whine about the status quo, and of course mpfunk could call himself excougar. It's almost impossible to please either one of them. As time passes Utah's 2008 football season looks more and more superior to 2004. Of course, all Ute fans have a vested interest in touting 2008, which is the current coaching staff's accomplishment. But funk steadfastly holds out for 2004, in the face of all kinds of contrary evidence like who beat better teams, who won more impressively in its bowl game, which team was ranked higher in any poll you choose to consider, etc., funk's evidence being simply that 2004 beat bad teams by greater margins than did 2008. I wonder if all fans who root for rivals of their alma mater are like this.
