Good point. Could you possibly tell us about the Sugar bowl again? It must have been at least 5 minutes since you last posted about it.

Look, you didn't mention anything about the BCS bowl. You said that Max Hall hadn't made an impact on the national stage. beating Oklahoma was exactly that. Realizing your error, I can see how you would now retreat to the BCS issue, but please try to stay on topic, especially when you are the one that framed the topic.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I will remind you of this post next time you bring up Utahs 5 seed and winners of the "round robin tournament".

Nobody on last year's Utah basketball team will be remembered and loved like Van Horn, Milller, Judkins, Vranes, Chambers, Brian Johnson, Alex Smith and others who took the Utes to the truly national stage and played well there.

I agree with this post. In a couple of years Nevill will rarely even be talked about at Utah, despite having a really good final season.

Sad really. When was the last time BYU had a player finish the year as a finalist for the Wooden award?

Quick question, too. If 30 or so were nominated why were 26 chosen as finalists? What weird bracketology is that?

Than it's a good thing that Emery has found his 3-pt shot (59% in his last 9 games).

Yet I have seen so much crap about everyone standing around and watching Jimmer, that the offense is stagnant, that is one dimensional and easy to stop. So how come nobody has really figured out how to stop it yet?

Just like Max Hall was very underappreciated I think in the end Jimmer will be the same way.
I don't see it. I don't know anybody who doesn't think Jimmer is a fantastic player. On this Utes, Cougars, and Aggies can all agree. Also, Jimmer gives no reason to dislike him.

Max Hall was a really good quarterback, but he's not on Jimmer's level--if you can even compare the two sports. I think most BYU fans realize this.

I've been bashing on BYU's offense and Jimmer's dominance of the ball during the weekend, but this is much different than bashing on Jimmer. It's Rose's offense, not Jimmer's. Jimmer put on a display we are unlikely to see again at BYU for a long time (excluding possibly this weekend and hopefully next year). Jimmer has faults, like dishing, making an entry pass, but I complain a bit on those because he is such a great player that I want him to do it all.

As for the fact that we score a lot--that's the reason I really can't bag on Rose's offense even though I just don't get it. Results are results, and we score a lot. Still, I like USU's offense better. And UNLV's and the Jazz's etc.

BYU's one of the most efficient offensive teams in the country, getting it done without a good post scorer. I have a hard time imagining how someone could come close to complaining about BYU's offense. If you want to complain, complain about the defense or the rebounding.

Rebounding absolutely, but we have seen what a motivated 2-3 zone defense can do for large stretches of a game coupled with timely man-to-man. Statistics back that up as well. The Cougars can be good defensively but are rarely good at rebounding. That's why we need Hawes so badly as well as for Abouo to stay out of foul trouble. Hard to reconcile the fact that Hartsock leads this team (barely) in rebounding with just over 5 per and we won 29 games. It will be an issue in this game and any possible future matchup to be sure.

I think you'll see a more post oriented offense in years we have reliable post scorer. I'm hoping next year Davies will be that guy.

I'm not complaining about any of the coaching--offense, defense, or rebounding. I just think if defense and rebounding are areas you could make a better case against the coaches. I think without Haws we're actually a better rebounding team because you see Abouo and Tav at the three a lot. Abouo's the best rebounder on the team on a per minute basis. I'm actually not too concerned if Haws can play or not. Abouo and Loyd getting his minutes we probably don't drop off much. Haws is more skilled offensively, but that's not a weakness.
