Jimmers legacy is shaping up to be a lot like Max Halls........

I can not believe how many BYU fans are bashing him and BYUs offense. BYU was 2nd in the nation in scoring offense, they are one of the best shooting teams in the country, not to mention this is the winningest team of all time. Yet I have seen so much crap about everyone standing around and watching Jimmer, that the offense is stagnant, that is one dimensional and easy to stop. So how come nobody has really figured out how to stop it yet?

Just like Max Hall was very underappreciated I think in the end Jimmer will be the same way.

It is true that BYU didn't run much of an offense against UNLV, but that wasn't true the rest of the season. Even compared to the blowout at T&M earlier in the season, BYU just wasn't able to get into their offense very often last game due to the great defensive pressure.

All that can be erased with a win on Thursday, if Jimmer has a good game or not. If they can win Thursday and Saturday, Jimmer will be on equal footing with an area authority 70 or member of the famed BYU ballroom dance team around campus.

Jimmer will put to rest any of this silly talk by the end of BYU's tourney run and instead they will be talking about whether or not he will stay or go.

I honestly don't see how you can compare the two. BYU basketball has been humdrum for so long that anyone who doesn't think Jimmer is the cat's meow just really has no clue whatsoever. He's a really special player, perhaps the best to ever suit up at BYU. Whether or not you like Max Hall you can't say that about him. Elite, yes, but not the best ever.

Jimmer and Max Hall are regarded similarly right now because both have been regional sensatoins. Jimmer will be regarded differently if he can elevate BYU to a true national stage and perform well there, something Max Hall never did. People resent Max Hall because BYU football's local successes and failures to even reach a really big stage don'e really satisfy, and induce a dull ache. Jimmer's will be icnonic if he really takes BYU deep into the tournament.

The year that BYU went to the Elite 8 it finished third in the conference behind Utah, which went to the Sweet 16, and Wyoming. Most BYU fans don't remember that BYU was the third best team in the conference that year. Winning the conference is a big deal in a major conference; in the MWC it's less satisfying without more.

Go ahead and keep kidding yourself that that was the same thing as winning a BCS bowl. Hall's legacy says it all. That opening game against an Oklahoma team that lost its starting qb and then went nowhere afterward only further frustrated BYU fans.

Jimmer and Max Hall are a real bizarre comparison to me. The FB and BB program are completely different as far as expectations, how you evaluate success, etc. And Jimmer has not even finished a year when he's the go to guy, leader of the team.

Further, they're completely different players. Hall was the fiery leader, team spokesman, overachieving despite of talent deficit, with various hard knocks playing big games against top competition.

Jimmer's a soft spoken guy who carries the team with his play. And has not had a chance yet to prove himself on a big stage.
