In the case of Syracuse they just ran into a team that was more talented. Not sure what happened to the Utes.

UNLV is better than Utah. I would submit it was a lot tougher for Utah to beat UNLV two out of three than it would be for UNLV to beat Utah 3 times.

Syracuse and Georgetown are both ranked, quality teams.

BYU is significantly better than TCU and beating them 3 times simply isn't that hard. TCU played out of their minds and still barely ever had a lead more than a couple of points. That should have been a sign they weren't going to sustain.

Beating Eastern New Mexico three times is a given.

I would wager a fair sum if you took all of the 3 game series played in a given season that if one team won the first two games, they also won the third game well over 50% of the time.

Agreed. They looked very sloppy on defense combined with TCU shooting a high percentage. BYU's shot selection I think was at least in part from TCU's improved defense in the first half.

That Rose made the correct adjustments at the half and the team subsequently pulled away makes me pretty happy.

Now, in fairness to the boo birds, I concede that there is more margin for error against TCU than there will be against UNLV or New Mexico. Whatever fundamental adjustments we need to make tonight, we had better figure it out well before the half.

BYU lost its semifinal game last year to SDSU after winning both regular season conference games. So there's one data point. You go get the rest.

My high school water polo coach used to tell us how tough it was to beat a good team 3 times. I don't remember him being wrong all that often considering we took CIF. How can you argue against that?

That'd be interesting to see actually. Even NM struggled to put away AF. I still think it's a difficult thing to do. So if turns out to be anything less than well over 50% of the time do I win?

Well, because Utah beat UNLV twice, you're submission is wrong.

You're going to argue with a sample size of more than 30 games? No sane person would argue that Utah is better than UNLV, despite Utah winning two out of three games.

Would you care to discuss the MLB or NBA that have best-of-7 series for some strange reason?

I'm just quoting you and showing that you are wrong about that. I'm pretty sure that you were talking about this season and you said that it would be easier for UNLV to beat Utah 3 times in 3 games. They didn't. They lost 2 of the 3.
