On 1320 this morning they mentioned the conference is reviewing the case to see if they should dish out any punishments. That's stupid. Last I checked in America, grown men are allowed to refuse to shake hands with people, call another adult an asshole, etc. They might have embarrassed themselves, but they don't need any official league punishment.
I think it is the NBA equivalent of fining someone $25,000 for criticizing the referee after a game.
Football coach punches out one of his assistants. Women's soccer player pulls a BYU soccer player down by the hair (played on ESPN for days). And now Alford goes 'a-hole' on a BYU player.
Sounds like some anger issues going on in Albuquerque.
Big deal. I don't think Holmoe should have trotted JT in to apologize either.
Hasn't anyone ever gotten into a heated competitive situation and called someone a name.
If this Hobson guy really was using the F word on AFA players and followed up with BYU players, he's the guy he should be getting called out. Doesn't sound like his foul mouth is heat of the moment stuff.

Just out of curiosity, what's your take on JT's f-bombs?

From what I can tell, they were heat of the battle F-bombs. Since it is BYU, then I think it is OK, if that is what Holmoe was making him apologize for. Other than that, none of my business and I certainly wouldn't threaten to withhold CC donations over it..
If he was dropping them players direction the whole game, then that isn't heat of the battle and I would treat him the same as I would treat the New Mexico player if he was doing that.

It wasn't quite clear, but your message seemed to imply that Hobson should get some sort of punishment for droppin' bombs. That's what I was getting at.

No, I heard he was dropping them at players during the course of the game. If someone hit him in the nads and he dropped a bunch of F bombs on the guy, I wouldn't have a problem with Hobson doing that at all.

The F-bomb is a standard in an athlete's or coach's vocabulary. It's rare when there is someone involved in sports that doesn't use it. Suspending someone for dropping it, be it in the heat of battle or not, will and should never happen.

I would never jump a coaches case for not suspending a kid who was F'en this and that at the other players on the other team. I myself though wouldn't stand for it out of my own players and it has nothing to do with being a Y fan or LDS.
My player misses a shot or gets harassed by another player and blurts it out, no big deal. He runs up and down the court calling the other players F'ers just because they are on the other team, that is where I would draw the line.
For one reason, if you run it out of your mouth all the time, what word are you going to use to show you are really pissed off.
