This link shows how the NCAA rankings went week by week that year. BYU was ranked 18th in the preseaon poll but Uath didn't enter the rankings until after the 3rd week.

Ok. While the BYU/UNM game maybe the biggest game in MWC history as far as teams being ranked, we've found two from the WAC that were bigger. So DDD and the paper are spreading misinformation.

I'm all for piling on TD, but, iirc, "exercise their demons" comes from the long list of CB/CG/CUF malapropisms. The tip off is pre-madonna, which dates back to CB and some long-forgotten poster.

Didn't we start a thread on this somewhere? I believe "exercise demons" is also joined by "pre-madonna" "for all intensive purposes" "holi poli" and "wahlah."

It does not appear, from the website statsheet.com that either BYU or Utah was ranked at the end of the regular 1965-66 season. Nonetheless, in those days, when the NCAA and NIT were both prestigious tournaments (unlike the NIT of today), BYU won the NIT and Utah went to the Final Four. BYU swept Utah that year, 93-92 and 115-100 if I recall correctly. Prior to the Ainge/Chambers/Vranes years, this had to be the biggest matchup of the old WAC in basketball.

Of course, how could I forget. I don't even know what is trying to be said with "grain assault."

Also, when you type "dido!" and I glance over it, by brain gives a first impression that is much different from what is actually trying to be said.

"Grain assault" has something to do with the way most of us take SU's posts.

I thought my random inclusion of "pre-madonna" would have been sufficient.

                    :confused2:

Indy got it, which is why he responded with the red furry.

I think pretty much everyone got it but creekster and Mr. Crimson.

IJR, the only thing better than your explanation is that now PAC and creekster are lumped in with Road Scholars like Mr Crimson.

                        Wahlah!

For all intensive purposes, victory is mine!

                          See also, "3 ring circle."

I think that one made it up on my quote wall.

Its weird when someone decides to obsess about you and you're unaware of who they are? Kinda creepy. What is the CUF equivalent of a no contact order and how do I get one?

It was a typo that resulted in an actual word that is a glorious malapropism. Usually when creek has a typo the word is obliterated. So this time creekster deserves credit for a pretty funny joke.
