Were you at the game? How was the crowd(size and energy)?"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."
"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

No, I watched it on tv. The crowd didn't look very big on the screen.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostWere you at the game? It makes me sad for how the crowds were when i was in medical school...waiting in line overnight to get tickets to see Wake and Duncan, UNM and Kenny ThomasOriginally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostNo, I watched it on tv. The crowd didn't look very big on the screen.

agreed. and because the rebels can't shoot the 3 to save their lives.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostIt is all about the matchups. The Utes really matchup well against UNLV mainly because of Foster.

Average turnout. Whit and wife were there, on the kiss cam. What has seriously deteriorated is the muss. There were less than 50 MUSSers with the tie dye shirts, and another 50 who wear the red shirts. Not a force to be reckoned with anymore. Maybe exams are this week?
I love the little hoki-poki dance that the bird does with the MUSS. It looks like a caucasian version of the Haka.
I was seriously disappointed Darger wasn't there. He makes it to the UNLV-BYU games.

Dammit Eeyore, why can't you have some of that Winnie the Pooh "the glass is half full" optimism?Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostI was most impressed that the U didn't fold down the stretch. Willis was awesome and almost won the game by himself, but the Utes held just enough to get the win. I'll take it.
The schizophrenia displayed by this team is astounding. Overall, it's not a good team, but it wins enough to make me think that it has underachieved.
Ah, well. Nothing I can do about it. I'll just watch and cheer for them.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Eeyore, the old grey Donkey, stood by the side of the stream, and looked at himself in the water.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostDammit Eeyore, why can't you have some of that Winnie the Pooh "the glass is half full" optimism?
"Pathetic," he said. "That's what it is. Pathetic."
He turned and walked slowly down the stream for twenty yards, splashed across it, and walked slowly back on the other side. Then he looked at himself in the water again.
"As I thought," he said. "No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that's what it is.""Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Based on the MUSS turnout, exams were last week, and the week before, and the week of every home game since the start of the season.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostAverage turnout. Yes. The team that hasn't ever hit more than 11 3's in a game did that in the first half alone versus BYU. That was an incredibly lucky shooting game for the Rebels.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostDidn't UNLV go like 9-10 from 3 to start the BYU game?"Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Maybe its that vaunted ute 3-point defense.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostDidn't UNLV go like 9-10 from 3 to start the BYU game?
The utes gave unlv open looks all night long and time after time the rebels would aimlessly pass back and forth on the perimeter. Jimmer would have cleaned up.

Amen to that. I was at the game as well and it honestly felt like I was watching two entirely different Ute teams trading off duties throughout the game. By the time UNLV tied it up near the end, I was just shaking my head. Glad we pulled it out.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View Post.

.Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...
None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.
I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

It is rather rough. Every game is getting 7K to 9K fans. I just don't understand it. The Section F fans do a good job...these are all past graduates varying in ages and they get good attendance even though most have families, etc...they are showing up and standing all game long. Then you have the student section where they are getting 30-50 fans. I seriously don't understand. I know the Utes have been up and down, but going with your friends to a game with a fun atmosphere and usually good competitive games--why aren't they going? Strange.

This is the one thing that has really killed attendance. If the students won't show up, who will?Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostWhat has seriously deteriorated is the muss. Plus, the kids who are students now, are your future season ticket holders.
This doesn't bode well for attendance over the next 5 years.
