No, using my logic you could try and compare Adrian Dantley to Magic Johnson and it wouldn't be a completely inappropriate comparison. Whether one is better than another is the subject for debate that I think would result in Magic being considered better. My logic says there are a number of ways to compare people and stats is one of them. You can also, as you will want to do, compare win totals and tournament wins. Those should be included in the analysis as well. Jimmer has more work to do if he wants to be considered Miller's superior but comparing them is not completely up in the night. Especially considering where both played and their builds, height, and position.

Until Freddy leads a team that completely dominates the MWC such as winning every game in the season and tournament, leads BYU deep into multiple NCAA tournaments, and then plays ten years in the NBA as a solid contributor, you are up in the night.

I forgot to mention that Miller was First Team all-American. There are only five of those in any given year. Also, he was the 8th pick overall in the NBA draft.

He's also played on 20 different NBA teams. Virtually no one ever manages that in their career.

I've known for a long time that you have an unreasoning love for the Utes and a desire to start arguments by misconstruing what people say. I didn't realize until right now that you are a complete dumbass.

I've always wondered what it would be like to be in court with two high powered attorneys going back and forth. Little did I know it is a lot like riding on the bus in Middle School.

SU, nobody is claiming that Jimmer has accomplished more in his entire career than Miller. But come on. He just dropped 49 points in a single game. Along with 9 assists and 8 (?) rebounds. Your defensiveness just looks silly here.

Since when has appearing silly stopped SU from making dismissive comments related to BYU athletics?

Like I said ... I never thought he was a dumbass until today.

Great. So now he should be compared to Andre Miller on the basis of one game. Do you know how many guys there have been since Miller, or are right now, in college basketball averaging 21 points a game, playing an almost invariably mediocre or crappy schedule, who haven't or won't experience much postseason success? That's right, as you imply, they're a dime a dozen. Last night was pretty bizarre to be sure, but it doesn't make a comparison to Andre Miller. Miller stood out against the best of the best, at the pinnace of college basketball, consistently.

This is typical BYU fan schlock. Just like when BYU fans were saying BYU's win over Oklahoma was the biggest in MWC history. Pretty soon we'll be hearing about how the NCAA should be enjoined to put him on the All-America team or give BYU at least a fifth seed. It's usually about then the hosue of cards starts to cave in.

This is actually the one in a million times I think SU has a reasonable stance. Jimmer shouldn't be compared to Miller yet.

I'm not yet ready to deify the kid. As a long time BYU bball fan I know how this thing works. We play a bunch of patsies in the preseason and win maybe one or two games against some decent competition. Then we all get our hopes up this year will be different. Then we struggle a bit in MWC play against some decent teams and our stock falls. We get an 8 or 9 seed in the tourney and lose to a great team.

                            Call me a pessimist.
He may not be great, but I bet he could score at least once on MikeWaters.

If he keeps putting up a half-century a game I would let him get to second base with me.
