The best part about reading the thread Vandelay posted was realizing that all schools fan bases are identical.

    1. Start out with tons of optimism. Big game tonight.

    2. Crap we are down early, thats ok need to fight back cut it to ten by the half.

    3. We suck. These guys dont belong on the same floor as us we are giving them the game.

    4. Making a little run, showing signs of life.

    5. Why the eff is "random player here" in the game? He sucks!!!!!!!

    6. This is the worst game we have every played.

    7. They are classless and running up the score.

    8. Someone needs to foul him hard and make it hurt.

    9. I cant believe they are running up the score on us. What a freaking joke, I have lost all respect for them.

    10. Stupid Mormons and their weird religion. (Turn thread in to mormon bigotry)

Every fan base is the exact same when they play BYU.

I found it funny that I went to CB this morning to see what was being said about the game and the first post I see was calling out IndyCoug for not believing that Jimmer is the best basketball player in the history of the game by linking a 2 year old post.

Indy how you still put up with that place is beyond me. A drive by sarcastic comment once a week is all I can handle.

For all the crap Indy has given people over the years for criticizing certain coaches or players, it's totally ironic he chose Jimmer as the one guy to oppose over the last 10 years of BYU sports. It's OK to put it back in his face. He gives, he can take. P.S. Indy, nothing personal, you know I love you.

I noticed the same thing. I'm sure you have also noticed another phenomena when attending HS sporting events, especially if you are there to just watch a player or the game and have no allegiance to one school or the other. (something I have done consistently for the past 20 years). The fans are always convinced the refs are screwing them and the coach is playing favorites, e.g. playing someones kid is getting more PT than mine.

Seriously? The fact that you think I oppose or opposed Jimmer is a testament to the numerous frayed neurons in your brain.

This 2 year old post that someone inexplicably pulled out of the mothballs was based on a 3 minute highlight clip that showed precious little and I even caveated my "evaluation" accordingly. How that makes me "opposed" to Jimmer is absolutely beyond me.

                  P.S. I am opposed to Prof-Bball.

P.P.S. Jay, feel free to find the most negative thing(s) I have said about Jimmer since he started playing at BYU.

This team is great to watch because, despite yesterday's phenomenal Night of the Jimmer, there's a lot of balance, unselfishness, and talent spread among several players. Jimmer was 1-for-13 from the floor against ASU, but the team managed without him (and it's fun to imagine the Wildcats wondering why they didn't get that version of Fredette). As great as Fredette is, the MVP of this team is Dave Rose. After that, it's probably Dave Rose's oncologist. May they both live long and prosper.

                      Fredettes season so far:

                      21.6 pts 5.6 assists 3.1 rebounds 2.0 steals

Thats nice but look at these percentages:

                      50% from the floor
                      44% from three
                      93% from the foul line

Just for comparison only 5 players in NBA history have had a 50-40-90 season and all of them (except Steve Nash who is well on his way) are in the hall of fame.

I know this is not the NBA but lets compare what he is doing currently with some the best in the NCAA over the past few years.

                      Stephen Curry: 45-38-88
                      JJ Redick: 40-40-94
                      Adam Morrison: 49-42-77
                      Juan Dixon: 46-39-89
                      Jason Williams: 46-38-67
                      Jameer Nelson- 45-40-80

Both of our guards are 180 shooters right now. Jackson's 54-50-82.

                          Pretty impressive.

Oh and Haws is 56-34-89 for 179 total. And I believe he started the season 0-10 on three's which makes him 10 for his last 19.

Emery is #2 nationally in effective FG%.

This one disappoints me in you, you know sports better than this. As much as I dislike Arizona and St. Lute I remember him being asked about Redick and he said something to the effect of "If he hits his next 20, 3-pointers in a row he still will be shooting a lower percentage than Salim Stoudamire"

The year Salim had in 04-05 is one of the best by any college player ever

50-50-91 for your run down. http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/pla...lim-stoudamire

                                In fact Redick's year isn't even better than Luke Jackson's 03-04 year, 48-44-86, http://www.basketball-reference.com/...jackslu02.html

Let's compare Jimmer to guys that aren't ESPN creations.
