Yeah, she isn't very good at this. Not terrible, but not good either.

Pence is not being as big of an ass as trump was, but he is steamrolling this moderator.

Pence is kicking butt and taking names... and he is doing it while debating two people at the same time on the stage.

Well I was 14 when he first ran for president, so no. But even so things are a little different now. Information on any national level politician is readily available for anyone to search and consume in a few minutes. Things like voting records and ratings from dozens of partisan and non-partisan organizations are catologued online for everyone including a junior senator from California. Thus it is easy for anyone to note that the current Democrat VP candidate is farther left than nearly every US senators. Her voting record puts her right out there with Bernie.

Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and she will run to the center after being elected. But its not unreasonable for conservatives to be concerned how far left a barely alive Biden will be pulled given the hard ideological shift of the party in the past 3 years. Im not worried enough to vote for trump, but I will be more surprised if Harris can transform herself into a moderate than if she continues with her same ideology she has had since becoming a senator.

And yes I'm assuming she will have more influence on policy than Biden. There is a good chance she is president before 2025.

Bill Clinton had a sketchy past before making his run, but he was a pragmatist, knew how to play the game, and in the end turned out to be a fairly decent president (same lines about hard left turn, he’s a socialist, he’ll take all the guns etc then as well). Hopefully she will do the same. But there is 0% chance that she would be as bad as the current ass clown which is what makes all the hand wringing about her so irritating. Like drowning in a river of elephant turd, but looking sideways at the guy trying to pull you out because maybe he hasn’t washed his hands recently.

Harris got over 3 minutes more speaking time than Pence. The moderator was quicker to interrupt him than she was to Harris, though, so it made him look like a jerk:

I thought the moderator was overall terrible. No follow up questions at all. No questions on key issues of the campaign. I would really love to know what Biden/Harris plan to do about Covid if they win, but Harris refused to answer the question and the moderator apparently didn't care.
