    Humor for the day

Why would EVERY member of congress have to read it. If their leader(s) say it's ok, that should be sufficient cause to vote in favor.

And people accuse Mormons of being sheeple!

    And this: http://www.cnsnews.com/public/Conten...x?rsrcid=50887

Pelosi said she would read the entire bill and give the people ample time to review it but won't sign a pledge to read the entire bill and give the public 72 hours to review it? Hello!

    Savings? http://www.cnsnews.com/public/cnsnew...x?v=Gd4z8zaG2G

When has the federal government EVER saved ANY money? Other validations? Academic institutions will quantify the savings?

exUte's "Humor for the day" is a bit like "PAC's Beauty Tip for the Day", knowing that its author is wholly unqualified to weigh in on the subject.

I suspect that the vast majority (I'll go with >90%) of congressional votes, pro and con, are cast without the congressperson having read the bill from start to finish. That's what the hundreds of legislative assistants on the Hill are for. In fact, I'd have serious concerns about a congressperson who read every bill from beginning to end.

For the record, I have never been accused of being sheeple.

Hallexulah, do you ever smile? Do you ever do anything with your life besides being a negative, pessimistic SOB? Do you go on picnics with your family? Do you play softball with the ward? Do you go bowling with your kids? I can't picture you doing any of these things.

So, you'd rather they vote in ignorance?

I think he is referring to the process of a Senator's or Representative's staff reading the entire legislation and then providing a detailed briefing. I'm in agreement with PaloAlto.

Any elected official that takes the time to read every piece of legislation is wasting tax payer money.

They could more effectively be using their time leg wrestling comedians.

Instead of not reading the legislation and wasting tax payer money?

Never smile. What is there to smile about? The second coming is at nigh. Gays are taking over the world. Everyone wants to take my money. I hate my kids. Wish I had never gotten married. Fat people are destroying the planet with their gaseous outbursts. Am I missing anything?

What does make me smile, are posts like yours and others like yours. Actually it gives my friends and I a good laugh at the end of the day. To think folks like you are out there in our neighborhoods is hillarious.

You and your wife should build on this common ground.

I suspect the vast majority of congressional votes are cast because their leaders tell them how to vote. Why else does the MSM talk about a veto proof senate? Could it be that they expect them to vote in a block, regardless of ANY legislation? So I guess there really isn't a need to read anything, is there?
