  • So suicide is

    "courageous and brave"?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/15/wo...ritain.html?em

"Jonathan Groves, Sir Edward’s manager, called their decision “typically brave and courageous.”

Never thought of that. I guess what we need more of are courageous and brave liberals.

Brave might not be the right word, but the decision is understandable and most likely the correct one given the terminal nature of the wife's condition and the obvious declining quality of life for the husband.

If memory serves, every one of your recent posts has been a link to an article and a shot at liberals. 36D, is that all that you've got?

See the smiley face? It was a joke that I thought would elicit responses like yours.

Takes more balls to stick it out or commit suicide? Never thought of that. I guess those that commit suicide are brave? Actually I feel sorry for those who do and for you.

I can understand the feelings that prompted this couple's joint-suicide. I don't necessarily agree, but I can understand how facing life alone after 54 years together would be terrifying. The wife was on her way out, and they wanted to be together.

I don't think that we're in a great position to evaluate someone else's reaction to impending loss. After my mom died, I know my dad considered suicide many times in the year following her death but held on for my brother and me.

Is it courageous? Maybe not. Some might see it as the "easy way out." But I can't make that judgment call for somebody else.

So you CAN respond without a video? Cool.

Glad you caught on to my inquiry.

Could you spell out what Commando was trying to say?

I just found it interesting how their friend characterized it. Never thought of that before. That was the purpose of my post. Thanks for actually enlightening us on the subject vs. emotional namecalling. Well done.
