This is what scares me. A reasonable R with larger political aspirations votes for a dead dude because voting for a moderate dem would destroy his national career. The pre-Trump GOP is dead.

If he doesn’t have the guts to vote against Trump and Trumpism what is the average dude going to do? If Mitt can’t admit to voting for Biden you think the independent who broke for Trump 4 years ago is going to break away from him?

Agree, it is scary. Memories of an independent who broke for Obama in 2008 only to find out that voting for a moderate democrat was not really what he/she was voting in. Joe Biden picking Kamala Harris as a running mate does not alleviate matters.

That’s the point. They signal the country that they disagree owith Trump about virtually everything he does, but know that without the racists, bigots, and Q they can’t win in the Trump GOP. The party now is the party of white identity and owning the libs and fake piety. So let’s vote for dead people and not support the only viable normal candidate in the race.

My old HS US History teacher used to tell us each year about his Charlie Brown with Lucy Football moment he has with his wife every election.

He'd ask her, "who did you vote for?"

She'd say, "I'm not telling you."

So a republican US senator announces that he did not vote for the current republican president, but somehow that isn't good enough. Unless he voted for the democratic candidate he is a shameless bastard. Because ... you know ... that one vote might end up making the difference. gtfo.

We view the threat of Trump differently. I see it as the biggest threat to our country since the Nazis.

I’m on team Flake on this one. I’m in opposition to most of his core beliefs but I could vote for him strictly based on his integrity.

I don't know the differences between Marsha Blackburn and Ben Sasse or Lindsey Graham and Mitt, but I do know the difference between Flake and the rest of them. Flake isn't in office anymore.
