who said they are offended? I am disappointed. He changed it because of anger from the right, not because he was scared he would "miss a letter"

The beauty of the statement is that both sides of the aisle are able to take offense.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI just looked up the proclamation to see what the fuss was about. It was a lovely statement. The problem with enumerating each letter of the alphbet is that you will inevitably miss one (2S, I, +, etc) and someone will be upset. What's wrong with a blanket statement promoting the central concept of pride month?
Geez, it must be exhausting being offended all the time.

Apparently it’s not exhausting because they don’t stop.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI just looked up the proclamation to see what the fuss was about. It was a lovely statement. Geez, it must be exhausting being offended all the time."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

yeah, you and all the other libs are getting needlessly offended here. it's pride month. everybody knows what pride month celebrates. he's always been a friend to the lgbtq+ community and now you want to eat him alive - that doesn't make much sense to me, but you do you.Originally posted by Maximus View Post
its the reasoning behind changing it from last years statement, which acknowledges the troubles the community has (especially mental health), to not mentioning it simply. because the right mob got mad.
it is like celebrating black history month without mentioning race
tell me what is wrong with this statement?
I agree, it is exhausting people are giving in to the anti mob getting offended over mention of lgbtI'm like LeBron James.

Exactly! We should go back to the days where alphabet people tried to burn the police alive while they enforced a "Don't Look Gay" law. Thank goodness we don't have laws that impose criminal penalties based on what someone wears anymore.Originally posted by Shaka View Post
I'm not offended but it's overkill. It used to be a weekend with a parade. Now it's a month. Also, I agree with Lebowski, Cox's statement was fine.

His friendship seems to be waning. He signed the legislation regarding about trans athletes, when in the past he had spoken out against singling them out. Then this proclamation was significantly changed from prior year’s versions. It does seem to me that he is bowing a bit to the pressure of the hard-core right.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View Post

I feel the same way about Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have close family members that have died of breast cancer, but can we limit the NFL pink gloves and cleats to a single weekend? It's a real imposition.Originally posted by Shaka View Post
