After Trump fired all of the longstanding board of directors of The JFK Center for the Performing Arts, replacing them with his sycophants, they have renamed the building the Trump Kennedy Center. Disgusting, narcissistic, and unprecedented for a sitting president to have anything named after him while still in office. I hope Trump donates his ego to science for post-mortem study.

A federal judge in Washington ordered on Friday that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts remove President Trump’s name from the building’s facade and all official branding, finding that the board’s decision to add it was unlawful.

Judge Christopher R. Cooper of the Federal District Court in Washington wrote in a 94-page opinion that a law passed by Congress in 1964 made “crystal clear” that the institution was to be named for President Kennedy.

“Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” the judge wrote.

It would be one thing if further losing a nation's soul by extrajudicial killing of civilians put a significant dent in the flow of fentanyl cocaine into the US. But it's not even doing that. And the cost of murdering ~200 people with essentially nothing in return? A cool 4+ billion.

But almost nine months into the operation, epidemiologists, addiction scientists and public health experts say cocaine, by far the top drug smuggled out of South America, is as easy to get in much of the United States as it was before the strikes began.

The findings — based on evaluations of street prices, lethal overdoses, purity of samples and drug seizures at U.S. borders — raise questions about the effectiveness of the largest U.S. military deployment in Latin America in decades.

A federal judge barred the government on Friday from taking steps to launch President Trump’s $1.8 billion fund, for now prohibiting the Trump administration from setting up the fund that is intended to pay people the administration finds were harmed by the federal government.

The brief order by Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia prohibits the government from establishing the fund or processing disbursements at least until a hearing is held in June in a pending lawsuit challenging its legality.
