Ted's newly professed views on immigration in this thread would qualify as an "open borders" policy according to how Trump and his friends would define it.

Well, if Trump is against it than Ted will change his position.

I'm starting to be convinced that Trump doesn't want any solutions, really to anything. Chaos, controversy and political conflict by itself is what he thinks is a political advantage to himself.
Hey, maybe you can talk to your friends in Canada to open their border/homes and all that "free" and wonderful healthcare to these poor folks! Make a call and let us all know. They can join all the Dems that vowed to move there if Drumpf got elected.
Seems Canada has opened its doors to asylum seekers coming from the US:
I didn't know that the Iraqis had the choice when Saddam was running the show. Wasn't it be under Saddam's rule or lose their heads before things got "better"?
That's my point. That is a pretty low bar. Just because they aren't an authoritarian regime anymore doesn't mean the situation is good now. Certainly wasn't worth going to war to get them to the state they are now where there are thousands of terrorist attacks and the quality of life ranks near the bottom of all countries.
HIRSCH: That's Dominique Fillion with the Canada Border Services Agency. Last month alone, the agency saw 452 asylum-seekers in Quebec. That includes people who presented themselves at a port of entry and groups like the family that crossed in the woods. Fillion said many came from Burundi, Eritrea and Sudan. That number, 452 people just last month, is more than triple the number who came around this time last year. To help deal with the increase, there is now a makeshift refugee center in the basement of a former storage building.
FILLION: Well, there's no bedrooms. There's no beds. It's couches that they can sleep on. They're being cleaned. There's janitors as well. There's offices. There is a fingerprint machine. There's vending machines. The restaurant will come and deliver food.
HIRSCH: Migrants pay for that food themselves, and the government gives them free blankets and a voucher for free hospital services. Fillion said people wait at the refugee center while their paperwork is processed.
LOL. Maybe the USA should adopted Canada's way of dealing with migrants... "There is a couch you all can sleep on while you wait. If you get hungry the vending machines are over around the corner. You will need exact change. If you need emergency medical attention then the line for that is over there. Don't change the channel on the TV. I hope you know how to speak French."

I fully agree with this thought process. I believe him to be an agent of chaos. He thrives only when chaos abounds. His advantage exists in ensuring it is maintained and he excels at it. I don't think he does most of it consciously.

And by extension, most of his supporters. A lot of them just want someone to show strength and fight their culture wars.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Trump’s military advisors include Fox News loudmouths, and even more ridiculous, Tucker Carlson gave him the sanest advice re. striking Iran
When President Donald Trump was considering military options against Iran he suddenly grew “frustrated” with John Bolton, his national security adviser, and the way he seemed to constantly advocate for a strike, reports the AP. So he started broadening his scope and seeking out advice from others, including Tucker Carlson. The Fox News host had a different take than most of his hawkish advisers, insisting that a military strike would not be in the country’s best interests and that it would severely hurt his re-election chances, according to the New York Times. Although there is no indication that Carlson’s voice was the deciding factor in ultimately calling off the strike, he does at least seem to have been one of the ones who planted a seed of doubt in his mind.
Carlson appears to have argued against attacking Iran. Do think the President should have gone ahead with the strikes?

Trump derangement syndrome: Every decision Trump makes is wrong and stupid.
People not afflicted with TDS realize he’s gonna get half the decisions right just by accident. This was one of those correct decisions clearly. I’m with Tucker and Dr. Rand Paul on this. Let’s not start another war.

did you not read my post? I said he gave him the sanest advice. It's ridiculous when our POTUS gets the sanest advice from a right-wing talk-show a-hole. I've bolded that part of my post to help out.
