That's the district I grew up in. While it's half-Yankee now, it's Republican Yankees. I'd be shocked if Ossoff wins the run-off.

Maybe that's true. It just seems like 48% to 50% is a pretty small jump when the other candidate has to go from 19% to 50%. Also, runoffs are historically weird because the turnout is often abysmal. But in this case if the anti-Trumps are feeling more motivated than the garden variety Republicans who may not be as motivated to show up to vote a second time are, then that factors in as well.

Everything about this administration is such a freaking incompetent joke. Even worse than I feared when he was campaigning, if that's even possible. His blunders are expected now, so it's not so shocking anymore. But when nuclear war is a serious threat because of his incompetence, it's not just "cute" or funny anymore. Then why the hysterical comparison?! Third world dictators kill opposition leaders, dismantle the press, and other such extreme measures that are so far afield from what is happening here in the USA that is absurd to even consider the analogy, unless you are cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

A better analogy is the hired-gun CEO that comes in to a company, fucks it up, attempts to institute idiotic programs and "improvements" to marginally improve EBITDA or shareholder value or some other short-term goal so that he can add his "accomplishment" to an already padded executive resume. The executive is eventually seen for what he is - incompetent in every way - and is dismissed (or leaves), following which the system slowly recovers; hopefully a little wiser.

But a third world dictator he is not... and it is foolish to even suggest a comparison.

That's pretty good description of my take on Trump all along.

I didn't vote for him. I'm not fond of him as president. But I don't get the crazy stuff coming from some some folks as it relates to him.

I mean, he does enough dumb shit that all they would have to do is report or focus on that. Instead, there is often such over-reaction and over the top hyperbole in response that they almost make him look like the rational one. Almost.
