Note it doesn't say terrorists stopped at the border... but prevented from traveling to or entering the US by DHS. Apparently reporters can't read."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Then why is it on the White House's propaganda page advocating a wall at the southern border? Would you care to fancy a guess and say that it was done to intentionally mislead the public?Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostNote it doesn't say terrorists stopped at the border... but prevented from traveling to or entering the US by DHS. A better source than the White House? Links. Sources are all over the board on this sh*t. You would think the government could back their crap up with official reports.Originally posted by Commando View PostA better source than the White House? CNN, MSMBC, Pew, Snopes, any random porn site, etc. Take your pick.

You and the White House have linked it to the need for a wall. KellyAnn is already walking that back, admitting that it is a lie.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostNote it doesn't say terrorists stopped at the border... but prevented from traveling to or entering the US by DHS. Sadly for the White House, people aren't always stupid.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Good article. If we suddenly had a wall along the southern border (and did nothing else), I'd expect the number of people coming into the country unlawfully would be reduced somewhat, but only by a fairly small percentage. And those deterred wouldn't be the worst types of newcomers. Seriously, does Trump really believe that an evildoer intent on doing harm to the U.S., dealing in drugs, killing others, etc., will be foiled by a wall along a small percentage of our country's entire border?Originally posted by myboynoah View PostI suspect he will persist because his audience appears to be the teds of the world.
This article shows the bold faced lies put out by the Dump team concerning those numbers if anyone feels a need to reconfirm that they should not believe anything put out by the White House.
The Trump administration’s misleading spin on immigration, crime and terrorism
Why not spend a few billion more on increased staffing, better electronics, drones, etc., than a dumb wall that worked pretty well during the Middle Ages but has lost much of its effectiveness in the modern era?
One other thing... In a recent portfolio review my adviser said that two of the biggest issues currently affecting the market are uncertainty (Trump stirring things up, which his acolytes inexplicably seem to regard as always being a great idea) and immigration. Wait, immigration? Yes, she said. Baby boomers are retiring at the rate of around 10,000 a day and to keep the economy expanding, more workers are needed. Immigration has always been essential to U.S. economic growth (not to mention the great infusion of ideas and developments that come from those durn furriners--e.g., I think nearly half of U.S. Nobel Prize winners are foreign-born). Trump and his supporters have had an effect not only on illegal immigration, but on those who could come into the country legally but fear what may become of them once they're here, so they're trending toward staying away altogether. This is going to have seriously negative consequences for the U.S. and its economy long-term.
So sure, let's spend a few billion for better influx control, but let's up the quotas for those with clean backgrounds who want to be here.

Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

So we agree that it is a completely useless stat as it pertains to the border wall.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostNote it doesn't say terrorists stopped at the border... but prevented from traveling to or entering the US by DHS. Apparently reporters can't read.
We might as well state the fact that there were 1,841,200 state and local arrests for drug abuse violations in the United States in 2007 with the grand majority of them being naturally born US citizens.

No doubt we need immigration, no argument here... it is illegal immigration that is the problem. The links I posted above indicate that illegal immigration is actually a drain on the taxpayers. Why are we (as in 25,000+ US troops) protecting the border of south korea? Why do we have 50,000+ troops in Japan? Why do we have 60,000+ troops in Europe (as I pointed out already Russia is really not that big of a threat given the size of their economy)? Why don't these countries (our allies) have their troops in our country in return? Pull all these troops back and we would have more than enough to fund all kinds of border security rather than just propping up the current wall that is falling down. Besides border security we need to remove all (or at least many of) the incentives for folks to immigrate here illegally. Folks hiring illegal immigrates should be punished and well as states and other governments that create "sanctuaries" for illegal immigrates. As long as there are incentives they will keep coming and not even try to do it legally (that is too much work as is). So maybe talk to your government officials creating sanctuaries and tell them to stop. And get rid of the social benefits for illegals. Maybe we could use that money to take better care of our veterans, for example."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I am not changing the subject, you big dummy. If your argument is that a border wall will not help against the problem of illegal immigration (i.e. "border walls are immoral") then would should remove the 700 miles already in place (or at least the length along Pelosi's home state's southern border) and see what happens.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostYeah, I see why you're trying to change the subject.

So I guess Trump's whole thing about a 'Wall' was something his team came up with to allow him to remember to bring up immigration in his stump speeches on the campaign trail that obviously took on a life of its own. Remember that when he gets on TV tonight and begs for a wall and decries the 'national crisis' on our hands."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"
