    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Enraged President Trump reportedly says all Haitians have AIDS, Nigerians own huts at immigration meeting

President Trump exploded with vitriolic and racist comments — saying all Haitians have AIDS and mocking Nigerians — during a heated White House meeting about immigration, according to a report on Saturday.

Trump grumbled as he entered the Oval Office, dressing down his national security team and railing against the number of immigrants who had entered the country since he took office.

He said he looked like a fool as the number climbed and he failed to make good on his promise to curtail the number of foreigners coming to America, sources told The New York Times.

Trump fumed at his top security team, reading from a list and complaining that 15,000 immigrants arrived from Haiti.

They “all have AIDS,” he said.

He read on, complaining that 40,000 people had come from Nigeria.

They would never “go back to their huts” in Africa, the President griped, a pair of officials told The Times.

Hmmm, strange. Racist tirades are usually a Monday-morning-stand-up. Saturdays are usually reserved for book-burning and Arian affirmation.

At an impromptu interview at his golf course today, apparently without aides:

Mr. Trump disputed reports that suggested he does not have a detailed understanding of legislation, saying, “I know the details of taxes better than anybody. Better than the greatest C.P.A. I know the details of health care better than most, better than most.”

Later, he added that he knows more about “the big bills” debated in the Congress “than any president that’s ever been in office.”
His aides can try as hard as they can to filter him. But invevitably he will boil over and give us what we want. Trumpisms!

Good god, he's a fucking moron:

Trump: US could use some ‘good old Global Warming’ to heat up cold states

President Trump took to Twitter Thursday to note the record-breaking cold weather currently slamming much of the eastern U.S., saying the country could use some “global warming” during the cold snap.

“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record,” Trump tweeted. “Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”

I know that I should get over it, but Trump's laughably ridiculous lies, coupled with his steady diatribes against the "fake news" propagated by others, continue to amaze me. How does the guy maintain his popularity among his base?

I enjoyed his declaration today that,"You know, one of the things that people don't understand -- we have signed more legislation than anybody -- we broke the record of Harry Truman." In truth, he has signed fewer bills in his first year than any President in the past 70 years. But maybe he's right, and that we simply don't understand. I know I don't. Such a self-aggrandizing gasbag.

He just doesn't know the difference between signing actual legislation and signing a moronic executive order written by Steve Bannon.

because they’re stupid. we can kvetch all we want about the origins of a trump win but at the end of the day they are stupid and generally acting against their own interest.

He controls his base by playing up their fears. And since they tend to be less educated they don't have the knowledge to help them understand why the things trump tells them to be afraid of are baseless.

What is going under the radar is the vast number of completely unqualified lower court appointees he's trying push through. And I don't say "unqualified" in the political sense, as in they have views I disagree with. I mean actually unqualified in that they can't answer BASIC questions about the law -- or at least basic in the sense of what a federal judge should know about the law.

what exactly is a progressive libertarian? Progressives typically like higher taxes, income redistribution from the top down and other socialistic kinds of things. Those economic stances don't match libertarians who are usually defined by wanting very small government on both economic and social issues.
