President Trump: Making America Great Again...

Obama missed so many golden opportunities, but as you point out, he took on the divisive issues first instead of showing some unity. I ignore Trump because he is from an alternate universe and one of these days we will wake to see that we are all dreaming."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

He isn't even a year into his first term. He's not done damaging his country or party.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View Post
I've met my quota for Trump analysis for this month so I'm done. Point is I will never understand him. The country will obviously be fine but I'll hate him forever for wrecking my party.

I don't have nearly the angst for Trump that you have but I will agree, to a degree he is squandering a great opportunity.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI always knew he was an idiot. Bully. Oaf. Slime ball. But I have never considered him to be nuts. I still don't think he is, but the twitter thing is so weird. I know it's like Moli said that he shores up his core supporters with this nonsense, but he's cutting off his own political legs. If his goal is to make sure he can always throw a packed-house rally in the rust belt I guess this is a good strategy but it sucks if he ever wants to accomplish anything.
I was perplexed at Obama's insistence to go after very divisive issues when he had a mandate and the good will to accomplish some really important compromises on big issues that we need to solve desperately (mainly fiscal issues). Trump is doing this, but a million times worse. He had no mandate and obviously isn't admired like first year President Obama, but he brought a marginalized segment of the electorate to the table and therefore could have accomplished some very important things. Instead he just speaks to that base over Twitter constantly and undercuts any practical strategy to accomplish any agenda. The crazy thing is, I don't know that most of his base really cares about this crap. They mostly want economic opportunity.

Those Trump rallies are sure to bring out the best in Americans:
“You’ve seen the stories about some of these animals. They don’t want to use guns, because it’s too fast and it’s not painful enough. So they’ll take a young, beautiful girl, 16, 15, and others and they slice them and dice them with a knife, because they want them to go through excruciating pain before they die. And these are the animals that we’ve been protecting for so long. Well, they’re not being protected any longer, folks.”"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Eh. The looming disaster has been a long time coming. Once an anti-media party, always an anti-media party:Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostThe country will obviously be fine but I'll hate him forever for wrecking my party.
This makes Trump's election a little more understandable, though he's still the worst ever."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Was anyone reassured by Trump's address in Ohio this week?
Emphasis is mine, because I always love the codas he tacks on at the end of any statement he thinks is especially profound.Sometimes they say ‘he doesn’t’ act presidential.’ And I say, look, great schools, smart guy, it is so easy to act presidential. But that’s not going to get it done. In fact, I said – it is much easier, by the way, to act presidential than what we are doing here tonight, believe me.... with the exception of the late great Abraham Lincoln, I can be more presidential than any president that has ever held this office, that I can tell you.
Of course, he said he can be, not that he will be, more presidential than every other President in history, save Abe. Still, I say we eliminate Washington, Jefferson or Roosevelt (lightweights, all of 'em) from Mt. Rushmore and commence work on adding Trump. I suspect the sculptor will charge extra for the hair.

Somebody needs to give him a "prove it" at some point and see what happens.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostWas anyone reassured by Trump's address in Ohio this week?

So he's using a gruesome criminal incident to paint a picture of all 11 million undocumented immigrants and refers to them as animals? Despite the fact that U.S. citizens commit such crimes at a much greater rate? Nope, totally not a fascist propaganda technique. What an unapologetic POS.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostThose Trump rallies are sure to bring out the best in Americans:"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! President Trump: Making America Great Again...
This guy is an absolute treasure.
Oops. I originally read this as a love letter from the White House to the President, not the White House quoting the President.
