Because Buffet is telling everyone he thinks taxes ought to be raised. I wonder why guys like Buffet, Gates, Hollywoodites, etc. don't just pay more. Instead they give it to charities so they can direct where there money goes and get a tax break. For the rest of us they want the money to go to the government to spend.

No problem with them giving to charity, that's great, but how about staying out of us peons battle with tax rates.

Only if you assume the legitimacy of the progressive scheme as currently codified. But if you make that assumption then the fact that Trump pays whatever marginal rate he pays on his income is also meaningless.

I saw that on CNN. Then on Fox I heard he would be in his proposed highest marginal rate which is higher than he is paying now. It is so confusing watching the different media outlets.

Buffet would still get his favorable LT gains rate and poor Mitt would lose out on carried interest break. Ha, ha all you hedge funders.

The question is what Bernie meant by "fair share". Should everyone being paying at the same rate? Or should only the rich continue paying all the taxes? Maybe folks like Bernie should pay some too just to be "fair"?

I guess that is one question. ANd, if so, then you're right, but I thought the question was what UT stated; what's fair? Bernie's share is pretty low. So is that a fair share?
