Do you think it was classy for the UFC fighter to call the former FLOTUS a "man" at a US Government-sponsored even on the White House lawn? That has nothing to do with "white folks" or virtue signaling.

Expressing no opinion of the actual event in question since I am as ambivilant as one can be about it, the term "white trash" is an embarrassngly racist term. Its implication is that the default for white folks is that we are non-trashy. It could also be implied from that term that this default geniality does not as readily apply to other colors of skin: you never hear of brown, black, red (except for those wearing U of U colors), etc. trash. I am embarassed for anyone who uses the term white trash.

White trash shouldn't be considered hate speech. Trash, I can see. There is nothing wrong about "white". But I still don't think calling someone "trash", although uncouth, is anywhere near hate speech.

Although with MMA, there are a lot of non-white participants and fans. But I bet the audience on the White House lawn wasn’t very diverse.

As stated above UFC isn't my thing but it's still just a sport. Most of my friends enjoy it. As I've watched clips of the event, I found there was. a lot more to it than just the UFC stuff. Pastrana had his Nitro Circus crew out performing, the flyover was spectacular Zac Brown did the National Anthem, and the US Marine Band played the walkout music. I find most of that entertaining. As stated previously, it looked like it was well done and a good time.

I suppose we could debate the appropriateness of hosting the event at the White House, but I don't think having it there was a big deal. I certainly think that the comparison to ancient Rome is ridiculous. Much ado about nothing.
