    He certainly projected some power.

My jury is out on this. I'm always glad when narcos get taken out, even big ones like Maduro. However, there needs to be a meticulous plan in place to stabilize the country and make sure the narcos can no longer use it as a waypoint for coke. It was heartwarming to see the celebrations in Venezuela and Miami. The oil part of things is a fringe benefit.

The presser was absolute garbage. If Trump doesn't want to use the teleprompter, then he needs to rehearse a few times. Sometimes he's pretty good speaking off the cuff, but today he wasn't. His remarks were disjointed.

Trump better be careful, FIFA might take back their peace prize.

So if we are going to be running things in Venezuela for a while, the big question is, which Fox News host will be tasked to do the job?

I vote for a hot one. Shannon Bream will do nicely.

I'm no expert on Venezuela, so I decided to bone up a bit this morning while watching BYU punk KState. I found this interview thought-provoking, especially the part about other power brokers within Venezuela that will cause problems. Also, how do we help install Machado?

Kidding aside, Trump's narcissistic indifference to persuading anyone other than his base will be part of his political epitaph. His policies could be all be great for the country, yet he couldn't care less about doing the hard work; persuading half of the country to support his ideals. And his embarrassing public appearances do not exist in a vacuum. He galvanizes over half the country against him by saying terrible things, over and over again.

                  Nope. Trump wants the oil.

While this might be true, I can't imagine any US oil companies that have any interest in investing in Venezuela right now. At least not without Venezuela paying for all of the capital infrastructure and somone (the US) backstopping any losses they might incur if/when Venezuela gets another dictator into power and decides to nationalize everything again.

This gave me a chuckle.. But very scary that it could likely happen too.

                              I laughed.

Good practice for his presidential run.

Just one of the most awful people we've had as a president:

Meanwhile, the Monroe doctrine is back on steroids:
