Trump's frequent use of "the likes of which have never been seen" is always amusing and grossly incorrect. I can't remember any riot being incited by a flag burning. i do remember a riot being incited by a guy who worked up a mob he repeatedly told to march on the Capitol and fight like hell (and I shake my head at MAGA-types who rush to remind us he said "peacefully," a single afterthought during an incitement that urged people to FIGHT more than twenty times).

J6 should have been the point of no return for Trump. Still blows my mind people voted for him after that. He immediately pardoned the violent scumbags who beat up cops and smeared shit on the Capitol walls.

Trump is trying to MAGAize government at every level. Watch him try to run for a 3rd term or suspend elections.

I doubt very much he'll run again. I also doubt very much that he'll disappear from the national scene (actually, I'm certain he won't). What I fear is that the GOP nominee (Vance, Rubio, or other MAGAish candidate) will be the equivalent of Putin's Medvedev, following orders from a power-sick autocrat who refuses to let go.

I stand by my assertion that although Trump is the greatest threat to the future of the US as a functioning democracy, RFK Jr. is the greatest threat to the immediate health of hundreds of millions of people:
