Trump's vocabulary is about 100 words. My 6th grade daughter speaks with more complexity and thinks more deeply than the president.

The Trumpers are thrilled because of the market jump today, don’t they know that the market jumped because Trump abandoned his plan for now. Today just made back what was lost last Wednesday and Thursday.

It's funny that Trumpers are flexing over the fact that the market was happy Trump backed off of what he said he was going to do.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • Presumably another DOGE victim, my brother sent the following yesterday to a family group text:

I got the news today that I will not have a contract position with Bureau of Land Management soon. Not sure when my last day will be. Will get more info during a meeting tomorrow morning.
He's been working IT for them for a while.

Elon is a real mixed bag for me, but one thing he got exactly right recently: Peter Navarro is an absolute moron.

Not taking into account his whole life, but why is Musk a mixed bag?

"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Republicans had a chance to capture more of the middle after Biden and Harris, putting this guy in there just swung them the other way. I'm curious to see if either side adjusts before 2028 or if they are just so blind they don't see it.

When I say mixed bag I take into account his entire career. Even accounting for his autism, I was never a fan of how he dealt with criticism even back when he was loved on the left. I should clarify with his current government role I find nothing concrete to admire. I like the principle of increasing government efficiency and I think there is plenty of room for that, but the way that he is going about it is dangerous. And I also think it is performative in the end; I have said many times that dealing with our debt problems without restructuring SS, Medicare, or defense is spitting in the ocean and largely useless. I could argue there is more damage in pretending you are doing something about debt that does nothing than actually doing nothing.

Anyway mixed bag would be something I'd say to people like my brother who see Elon as a supervillain and 100% a fraud his entire career. My retort to him was the dude made a couple hundred million on PayPal in 2002 and his next move was to go all in on private space travel followed shortly thereafter by electric vehicles. Who was thinking like that in 2002-2003? He deserves some credit for that vision and almost single-handedly driving forward the space travel and EV industries. One could definitely argue the damage he is doing now outweighs his prior accomplishments. But I don't see the need to paint all his accomplishments as fraudulent to call out what one disagrees with now.

depends on why he changed. he is a net negative now over his career.

Thanks for you response. I think his behaviors aren't justified by his autism (I'm saying you share that opinion. But That's a wildly misunderstood condition. I'm can guarantee are people here would could land on the spectrum.

I do agree he did a lot of impressive things, and that should be acknowledged. He couldn't be the richest person ever if he didn't have a gift for spotting issues and thinking bigger. He didn't just luck in to it.

I think Biden not inviting him to the EV forum was foolish.

I don't trust him right now though and think DOGE has proven to be sus.
