Another silver lining... The item on our ballot I cared most about was whether to allow Costco to build a store within 5-10 minutes of my casa. It's winning! So perhaps the day is coming when I'll be able to pick up a pallet of reefer. Given what's happening, I think this would fall within the medicinal exception of the WoW.

We have all spent so much time castigating the republican party for nominating the obviously flawed Trump that we forgot just how deeply flawed HRC is. She is being soundly rejected. I still maintain that people are voting for the devil they don't know, rolling the dice on the unknown, if you will, rather than for the devil they don't like.

I told my son this was an historical election and that he will some day tell his kids about this night. But the unanswerable question is what will history say about the trump presidency? All we can do is hope that it is not as bad as it looks right now. Only time will tell.
              PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Can we please stop parroting the phrase "We live in the greatest country in the world" now please? It was cool when countries either were afraid of us or aligned with us. We are now officially a punchline.

Agree. I hope we're all wrong about him, inevitable considering some of the things said about him.

What's funny is seeing the smart set acting like Il Pad after Obamacare passed. Not a whole lot of difference in the hyperbole and hysteria.

I am working in California this week and noticed all the props on the ballots around here. There are two on the death penalty: one to get rid of it and another to speed up the process. What happens if they both pass?

Back in Texas I only had one to vote on: to raise the retirement age of government employees to age 65.

Life will go on as basically normal. Just like after Obama won and the outrage and shouts of impending doom to America.

Among my many worries are what Wikileaks and similar sites will release in the months ahead about Trump. If disruption is their goal, releasing anti-Trump stuff before the election would have been counterproductive--until now. And since Trump has already proven to have a lot of baggage, I expect a lot more of that baggage is about to be unpacked.

Another concern is if Trump and the GOP Congress fail to deliver bigly, there will be a huge counterswell against them in 2020 at a time when, following that year's census, there will be a lot of redistricting/gerrymandering. Who will be in power then with the ability to shape the political landscape for the following decade?

So which apprentice winner(s) gets a cabinet position?
