Saying you won't for Sanders or Trump cuts no ice. Everyone (like Brooks and many here) who says they're voting for neither will in their hearts want Trump but are too pressured by peers to say so. Especially if you're a New York Times columnist. Some things are more important than boorishness and vulgarity. Some of us have been saying these things for five years and that the hideously biased mainstream media is failing their country. Now the mainstream media is freaking out. But it sowed there seeds of this catastrophe.
I'll vote for neither. But I'm in a state Trump will win so it doesn't matter. If I were in a swing state I would vote for Trump. Still hoping the dems get their act together and present a decent Trump alternative.

This is the heart of what's wrong with us as a nation these days:

A liberal leader confronts new facts and changes his or her mind. A populist leader cannot because the omniscience of the charismatic headman can never be doubted. A liberal sees shades of gray. For a populist reality is white or black, friend or enemy. Facts that don’t fit the dogma are ignored.

Did anyone see this? I'm not sure it was posted. Some funny video from a public access tv show Bernie did when he was mayor of Burlington 30 years ago. Talking to 5 year-old kids about cocaine, etc.

ANd that's exactly what makes it so bad, in my mind. He is sincere and authentic. He actually believes, with a lifetime of experience (although most of that experience is living on the public dole and fantasizing about leninist utopias that never were), that his crappy ideas will work. But sincere authenticity, as you point out, will not help the GDP. UNlike Warren, who DOES know better, I think Bernie is just not that smart, or is at best wilfully ignorant.

Dude, I’m not trying to convince to approve of Bernie. I mentioned that in comparison to Warren who I find less likeable. Sheesh

I ended up some list and I’m getting constant text from campaign volunteers to vote or volunteer for their people. I’m hearing far more from Bloomberg and Sanders than anyone else. I get text multiple times a day, but I haven’t gotten one from Biden’s campaign.

All that money in the hands of people would stimulate the economy. I can't believe there are so many people dumb enough to fall for this.

That's no longer appearing to be what will happen there, but who knows.
