I'm about her age and have two kids ages 8 and 5. Sometimes I've heard people refer to me as a "young dad" even though I've never called myself that. But I don't look my age and I can kind of get it when people have said it. I feel like I do understand other parents who have similar aged kids. I know about things like two working parents and the costs of child care, etc. In her case, one of her two kids is 8. Does that literally make her a "young mom?" No, but if the issue is her relateability to other parents with young kids, I would think her economic situation compared to "normal" people is a bigger barrier to understanding everyday folks than is her age. This isn't a defense of her in the least. She's clearly just another vanity candidate who will probably disappear off the radar soon enough. I think her biggest and more important issue is going to be to explain the radical policy position shifts she's gone through over her political career.

Agreed. Gillibrand is using that term as it pertains to the age of her children instead of her own age. BlueK and Gillibrand are not young parents, they are parents of young children. Big difference. Young parent carries with it a financial connotation that she is overlooking. Whether she's doing it intentionally or unintentionally, I can't say, though i'm torn as to which is worse from a politician.

With Trump as president it's not going to get better than these four, and he's probably not going to win. He's not going to win unless one of the crazy leftists gets nominated. What I learned from the Sonics thing is that Schultz is a better negotiator than Trump. But that's a low standard. So far, Trump hasn't shown us he's a very good negotiator.

That is probably true, but he has no chance at the nomination unless the dynamics within the Democrat party change significantly. He is too old and too white. Bernie overcomes his age and whiteness by sprinting farther to the left than any of his opponents and locking up the millenial and socialist vote. Kamala Harris has the most intersectional points so she may be able to challenge Bernie but she is not a great candidate.

Biden will try to run in the moderate lane, but that lane doesn't exist in the current Democrat party. That was proved by the gutting of Schultz among other current events.

Can't ignore Beto's money and appeal in the suburbs (although that is more critical to the nominees general election success than actually securing the nomination) but I think he is a complete lightweight and will fade. Also I don't think the dem base will tolerate the line he is trying to walk between social justice warrior and pragmatic moderate.
