My quality of life hasn't changed that much in the last eight years than it did the last eight years before that. It really hasn't even been different than when Clinton was President. All this partisan bickering is dumb. From what I've seen, it doesn't really matter who the President is."The mind is not a boomerang. If you throw it too far it will not come back." ~ Tom McGuane

So just kind of the knee-jerk, preprogrammed Obama sucks response. Ok.Originally posted by dabrockster View PostHis actions over the last 8 years has lead me to believe these things..
He is arrogant and thinks very highly of himself. He shows outward contempt whenever he is questioned on his actions or decisions. He has outwardly stirred racial tensions to his benefit and he had no executive government experience whatsoever before becoming President..
Just to name a few..
Let me be clear, I will not vote for Trump and hope Kasich wins Ohio and that turns the table in the right direction and Trump's circus ends shortly thereafter..
If not.. Not sure what I will do..

Agreed except this Obamacare BS. Really the worst idea in domestic politics for a long time.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostMy quality of life hasn't changed that much in the last eight years than it did the last eight years before that. David Brooks with a nice essay on the meaning of our weird election cycle.
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/26/op...-our-time.html
Over the past generation we have seen the rise of a group of people who are against politics. These groups — best exemplified by the Tea Party but not exclusive to the right — want to elect people who have no political experience. They want “outsiders.” They delegitimize compromise and deal-making. They’re willing to trample the customs and rules that give legitimacy to legislative decision-making if it helps them gain power.
Ultimately, they don’t recognize other people. They suffer from a form of political narcissism, in which they don’t accept the legitimacy of other interests and opinions. They don’t recognize restraints. They want total victories for themselves and their doctrine.
This antipolitics tendency has had a wretched effect on our democracy. And in walks Donald Trump. People say that Trump is an unconventional candidate and that he represents a break from politics as usual. That’s not true. Trump is the culmination of the trends we have been seeing for the last 30 years: the desire for outsiders; the bashing style of rhetoric that makes conversation impossible; the decline of coherent political parties; the declining importance of policy; the tendency to fight cultural battles and identity wars through political means."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? nice points. This does, of course, support the idea that it is worse now than ever. But maybe he forgot about some of the fist fights on the senate floor.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostDavid Brooks with a nice essay on the meaning of our weird election cycle.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-w...tunate-acronymPlan For Antonin Scalia School Of Law Is Tweaked Over Unfortunate Acronym
It must have seemed a straightforward way to honor a U.S. Supreme Court justice who was famous for, among other things, prizing straightforwardness. But then people began to titter about the unintended acronym of the Antonin Scalia School of Law — and now George Mason University has tweaked the name.
The new name for the institution in Arlington, Va., will be the Antonin Scalia Law School, says law school dean Henry N. Butler, citing "some acronym controversy on social media" as the reason for the change. The name will become final in July, pending approval by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

Actually I thought "ASSoL" would be a great name for a law school... very fitting."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.
