All they have to say is something like this: Some boys like boys and some girls like girls and some boys feel like they are more like girls and some girls feel like they are more like boys and some people just aren't sure what they think yet. These are normal differences and no one should be bullied because of any of these reasons, nor should these difference be used as insults for people who aren't like this. Really wuap, I'd hope you would be fine with this kind of educational experience taking place outside of your supervision.

Don't worry. I am sure that the people that vociferously object to the discussion of homosexuality in school will do a wonderful and compassionate job teaching about it at home.

This is the kind of stuff that I am talking about 3D. Your tone come of a "tad bit" condiscending.

I have two gay uncles, and they both have partners. So my kids are exposed the the gay a few times a year.

I would prefer to educate on this one myself.

          So glad that you responded.

I didn't mention you by name. I didn't mention the Church. There was no academic angle. And there certainly was no intellectualism taking place in my post.

So what exactly is the problem?

The problem is that people don't like their ideas to be challenged.

At least we can stop pretending that it is a religious issue.

Ok....but transgender....I know my daughter...she's gonna come home and ask me what that means......and my children are a lot like me (heaven help them) and they will have a billion questions about sex and I want them to get comfortable with regular hetero sex before I have to have a penis-goes-where? conversation.

            I don't care if it's anti-bullying................it's different.

I also will teach my children not to use "retarded" about anything other than dough.

You are right, it isn't just the religious section.

You come off as condecending. Your post makes it sound as if someone that has views like my own personal views aren't capable of teaching about this stuff in my home.

You seem to be pretty sure that the school can do a much better job with this than we can.

My wife is a teacher, and she will tell you that this shouldn't be handled by a teacher but by parents.

You talk down to people that aren't as "open" as you and I take it personal. Each time I make a comment you come back at me pretty specific and it is bullshit. You let SU slide on crap because he uses the same big words that you do.

Actually I always enjoy your posts. I think I even mentioned such recently. I don't ever recall having any disagreements with you in the past. Literally not a single one.

If you and others want to have a pity party about this alleged social stratification that exists here, be my guest. I take responsibility for things that I have actually said. And I have never said that you were less intelligent than me or anyone else.

Why do I get penalized for letting SeattleUte slide? LAUte has basically admitted to doing the same thing. If LAUte can do it but others cannot, then we finally have identified the double standard that exists on CUF.

You don't have to have teachers teach you stuff like this. In elementary, Jr High and High School, I knew nothing about gays.

However, I knew boys who preferred to hang out with the guys than date. They weren't bullied because people thought they were gay. As a matter of fact I don't remember them being bullied at all.

I remember boys who acted more like girls and they were called sissies, not gay. Maybe they were teased, but so were the guys with pimples, fat guys, or guys that preferred to hang out with the girls. Some guys like that weren't teased either. It is part of growing up.

If aggressive bullying takes place call the kid and his parents in and give them a serious teaching lesson. Don't subject the whole school to this stuff just because a few people are out of line.

Why do they have to mention sexual preference? If it's anti-bullying they want to teach how about something like this:

                                "Don't bully anyone."
