    Swallow and Shurtleff Arrested

Not sure how many of you have been following this, but the prior two Utah AG's were arrested this morning following a long investigation into corruption charges:

    http://www.ksl.com/?sid=30720646&nid...s_cid=topstory

This story has been playing out for a few years now. A month or two ago they served search warrants on their homes at the same time, leading to some emotional confrontations and lots of drama on the local news. I keep thinking that this will end up getting dropped because it is so hard to believe. The top law enforcement official in Utah was on the take? Not just once, but twice in a row? Amazing.

I haven't followed it closely, but it was the Feds who arrested them. Not locals. That indicates to me there are more teeth to the charges than some might think. But that's just a guess.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Yeah, the FBI served the search warrants on the homes that I mentioned. Shurtleff went on TV and carried on about how traumatic it was for his teenage daughter who was home when the warrant was served. Seemed kind of ironic for a "tough-on-crime" former AG.

So it's President Obama's Justice department headed by Eric Holding.

If you are a Utahn and republican I would make sure I kept my nose clean. Holder will pick and choose which laws he thinks should be enforced and I guarantee you the ones that will nail Republicans are held in high regard.

This is probably a legitimate arrest, but it is too bad the Justice department under Holder stinks like a sewer.

I know, I know. President Obama and Holder are both black, therefor I am a racist.

Eff yeah it's traumatic. If he doesn't want to cause drama in the home he shouldn't break the law....

I'm looking forward to hearing about when their disciplinary councils are being held....

I'm all for it! Not that I had any personal beef with Shurtleff, but somehow I love it when corruption doesn't 100% work out.

Yeah. Hopefully Shurtleff's daughter wasn't in the shower again this time.

Here is the story on the search warrant:

                  This part cracked me up:

Agents pulled cars into Shurtleff's and Swallow's garages and closed the doors, presumably to load evidence they had collected, before leaving. They left Shurtleff's home about 7:15 p.m. and Swallow's home just after 8 p.m.

At Swallow's house, two young neighbor boys knocked on the door holding a plate of cookies and what appeared to be a greeting card. An FBI agent answered the door and accepted the gift.

I haven't been following this story, but from this thread is sounds like Obama forced two Utah attorneys general (suck it DonutHole!) to accept bribes, peeped on a teenage girl in the shower, and then stole cookies baked with love, ala the Grinch. What a crazy story indeed!

Hey Applejack. I have always wondered what happened to you after the botched warehouse job. Was Dignan the only one to get busted?

And what the crap was up with Kumar? Safe-cracker, my eye.

Yeah, then don't do stuff to break the law or give rise to probable cause.

One of the funnier things I've seen is that swallow (I think) claimed he deleted stuff so as to protect sensitive information he received in his role as bishop.

It's always traumatic when it happens to you.

LOL you take a minor statement in a thread and act like it is the whole thread. You must be a democrat and devotee of Eric Holder. I guess he was at it again yesterday indicating he and the Pres. are victims of racism.

What are you a victim of? I hope just reading comprehension.

With byu71 everything comes back to Obama/Pelosi/Reid or the BYU Honor Code or the price of BYU football tickets. That's all he's got. Pick your poison.
