This is what fascinates me about what the Texas GOP did. There are many gay republicans (Grenell, Guy Benson) that thought the party was becoming more inclusive only to find out it’s still being ran by a bunch of homophonic old men.

On a positive note, the convention has renewed hopes that Texas might secede from the Union.
I suggest we offer Texas a nice package to follow through. Maybe offer to throw in Arizona if they agree to expedite the secession. The proposed platform (it’s expected to be approved when votes are tallied) adds: “Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto.” It wants the secession referendum “in the 2023 general election for the people of Texas to determine whether or not the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.”"The mind is not a boomerang. As a Texas resident and registered voter I would vote no, cancelling out Ted's vote.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostOn a positive note, the convention has renewed hopes that Texas might secede from the Union.

I'm not sure I care about stopping secession. At some point you have to realize that the United States has gotten too big and too diverse to be managed under a single Federal umbrella. It's naive to think the the U.S won't eventually break up into smaller entities. It will eventually happen, and it won't necessarily be a bad thing."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

My Houstonian cousin wants to Make Texas a Nation Again. I would love to watch them pass a Brexit-style, no forethought kind of secession bill and then watch the US Army walk in and napalm Uncle Ted and his AR-15 (for hog hunting only).Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This is why the term "fellow American" is no longer useful. Zero affinity for these life forms. I know it's probably impossible to wish people out of existence, but I still spend a couple of minutes a night practicing, just in case.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post"The mind is not a boomerang. I am heartened that his rallies seem to be getting smaller, even if they are getting distilled down to even more delusional supporters. Still worried that this faction controls too much of state election positions.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Yes, there is. When I came back across from Tamaulipas into Texas, on foot, the state agent (outside the federal customs/immigration) who was stopping cars, leaned out the little booth and yelled, "Any alcohol?" We didn't have any, so he waved us on.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostThere’s an alcohol tax in Texas? In the land of the free?!?
