No, I am just answering the question posed in the thread title.

        • Cruz, Cornyn and a bunch of GOP members of Texas' congressional delegation voted against funding and help for areas impacted by Sandy certainly have a different view when it comes to being the recipients of help themselves.

I am with Cruz on this one. There is no need to add so much pork to a disaster relief bill.

Y'all need to move this discussion to the "What's right with TX" thread.

He overstated it. It wasn't as full of pork as he said, and I guarantee that he'd vote for a bill full of pork if it was a Texas disaster relief bill: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...ds-sandy-reli/

Hey, any pork is too much pork unless it is Texas pork! Texas has good pork. When is the last time you had some Texas BBQ pork ribs?

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

He overstated it by claiming 2/3 was pork? I am sure that is true. But remember, that was a bill worth 50 billion dollars. That was with a 'B.' Fifty BILLION dollars. So lets say he overstated it by a factor of 10. Six percent still amounts to over THREE BILLION DOLARS. Now I know the government budget is huge, but I still feel like 3 BILLION dollars is something worth talking about.
                      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

                              • As flooded Houston neighborhoods dry out, residents wonder: Are they worth the risk?
