I was a little nervous, but did expect this outcome.

Yeah so are many laws. But at its core, a right that women had for 50 years was taken away. That’s pretty significant.

I wasn't 100% positive on who the 3 would be, but I was 100% positive that Thomas would be one of them.

I haven't looked. Alito, Thomas, and... Barrett?

And a right to life that was gone for 50 years was (partially) restored. That's pretty significant.

Barrett hasn't been a justice long enough to be compromised yet. I would like to know, though, where Gorsuch spent his last vacation and who paid for it.

Ha. He's been fairly reasonable all things considered. Kavanaugh has also surprised me. I'm so glad we have Sotomayor and Jackson, though.

A ruling the other way would have opened the door to a state legislature ignoring the election result and awarding the electoral votes to the loser in that state.

It also stands as a rebuke to those in Trump's camp floating the idea.

                      • Affirmative action ruling should come soon, no?

Also it was the basis of John Eastman's pseudo legal justification of his fake elector ploy.

Yeah, I would be surprised if it didn't get the axe.

Even though it's a SCOTUS precedent dating back to 1978. I'm not arguing the merits. It's just a little troubling to me how easily this group tends to throw those away.

I imagine that you could word that question in a way that would get more favorable results, especially from the Democrats. I doubt the Republican numbers would move all that much no matter how you worded it.
