You and Topper are making the same argument. You think they should have been able to subdue him. The fact is, they couldn't. Unless you think they had some ulterior motive to let him go. I can't think of what that motive might have been - perhaps you can.

The Braves should have won more than one World Series in all their postseason appearances. They couldn't do it. Many times, despite what should happen in our lives, for whatever reason it doesn't.

They are trained to take down men. And, the Braves tried. They didn't stand there like Dodgers and watch someone else lose to the Yankees. And, I maintain that the officer who left his car unlocked with loaded weapons inside is negligent here.

Looks totally justified to me. The guy disobeyed orders for 5 minutes and then jumped in the cop car? How is that not justified?

And for those of you that think the cops are guilty because they didn't physically subdue him, you are awfully generous with how far a cop should go in risking his life.

How do you know that isn't police procedure? Maybe the cop needed quick access to the weapons for himself?

Jumped in a cop car that had a gun inside. It was essentially suicide by cop.

Gossip is that these cops messed up but will likely be exonerated. I am uncertain which procedures they violated as that is NOT my area of expertise, but it appears they did.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Procedure or not, leaving the doors open with loaded weapons inside played a large part in his death. Also, the cop who exited that vehicle had his sidearm with him, and he used it, apparently. Cops are trained to deal with situations like this one. Though the details are difficult to see on the film, that many men should be able to subdue an unarmed man without seriously risking their lives and limbs. If you are the long arm of the Leviathan, you are allowed and even expected to use violence, since you have been given a legal monopoly on its use, to subdue and arrest those who would violate the peace and law with violence. It is an occupational hazard. I don't think it's fair to the People that a civilian was killed because these officers could not subdue him. Their reluctance to arrest him should not have cost him his life, even if he stupidly meant to do them harm. I never ever give the people in power a pass when it concerns violence. Three men shooting at someone multiple times at point-blank range merits a thorough and honest explanation to the citizenry.

Sorry. That is crazy talk. The guy resisted arrest for five minutes and then jumped in a cop car. Any cop in America would (and should) shoot in that circumstance.

Super easy to second guess in hindsight. Leaving the door open makes no difference as he could have easily opened it in a split second. And I can think of lots of reasons why a cop wouldn't want to lock his car in a situation like that.

This makes no sense. How can you make a determination that a rule was violated without knowing the rules?

The rumor comes from somebody who should know the standards. If the information is correct, then the officers goofed up and did not follow procedure, and somebody is dead because they violated procedures. Not being able to verify this, I am unable to confirm as it is outside my area of expertise. Make sense?

Okay. But I wouldn't suggest that the guy is dead because they didn't follow procedure. The guy is dead because he resisted arrest for 5 minutes and then jumped into a police vehicle with loaded weapons.

Well you may have it your way, but good police can deescalate a situation and sloppy guys can allow one to escalate. At this point, it is a matter of semantics.

You said you lived by him, you say you live in South Carolina. So I can only go by the information you post. I'm inferring from your post that you don't live in South Carolina and were/are a liar, and instead live on your bike at random locations in America. If that is the case it is very coincidental that Dwight didn't know you and had never noticed you before, since he must also live on a bike, near you, in random locations across America.
