I know some clients who have done business with her. She is a despicable human being, her fiscal and monetary policies as an ideology are horrible, and her choices in regard to foreign policy are disastrous.

The GOP is screwing the pooch as usual. I will probably have to find a way to defer income. I am taking a fancy to "carried interests" btw. That glorious option will likely be screwed up in the next ten years.

It is easier to win elections by promising voters the spoils of war, than in preaching self-restraint and denial. It is of small wonder that Democrats win elections on a national scale, but the GOP does a most excellent job in promoting unelectable candidates.

Upon reading your email more closely I realize you were talking specifically to the freeway system. The 215 helps the northern part of the valley. Although not freeways, Bangerter and Mountain View Corridor help the West side. And Legacy helps up north. The Southeast portion of the valley is SOL.

that has been my experience. if you are coming from Utah County, you are screwed both getting to the freeway and then getting downtown. FrontRunner has helped out somewhat on storm days but it is too cost prohibitive to make much sense as a daily solution.

I agree that if you are within the 215 loop, you can usually get around pretty well, especially when you add in Trax access.

Clinton benefited from several factors which his policies did NOT promote or with which I do not agree.

First, he reduced military spending. (I did not agree with reducing military spending to the degree he did; generally, military spending is necessary).
Second, we experienced a phony tech bubble, creating the illusion of wealth for excess taxes.
Third, he created some of the problems with respect the Real Estate Bubble through his policies of demanding banks make subprime loans or be sued for racial discrimination.

He also created a number of circumstances which later came back to haunt Bush, who was unwise in his presidency, but that's another matter.

The illusion of wealth was created but then huge tax burdens were imposed on the other end. I recognize there are other economic explanations for these general statements, and we could go back and forth, but I don't agree that the Clinton years were years of a robust, sound economy without structural problems that later came home to roost or burst.

actually I believe SLC now sells a steeply discounted monthly pass for SLC residents only. You need a SLC address but the monthly pass drops from $200 a month to $30 a month. It went before city council back in October. I have to check back to see if it passed. If so, time to look into that option. Front Runner goes right by my office.

Clinton and the economy did very well due to the Republicans gaining both houses. I will give him credit for recognizing what was going on, working with the Republicans and then allowing the press to sing his praises.

While I would have preferred Hillary to Obama, as I think she is of the same ilk as Bill. They will do whatever is politically expedient and while libs, they aren't hard core like our President.

I think if she runs I will vote for her though. I just am so afraid of some knothead claiming as a utahn I am sexist just like I was racist because I didn't vote for Obama. Utah has done a poor job master planning transportation and has been very lenient in dealing with land developers, most of whom are state legislators. Add to this that Utah is a property rights state and that makes obtaining optimal corridor pretty hard.

All that said, you screwed yourself WRT transportation by living in Utah County. Your first clue for a difficult commute should have been that there is a mountain between your home and your work destination, SJBH!
